Title: Exploring

Silver - July 15, 2006 12:22 AM (GMT)
The young gray wolf looked around her pen as she sniffed the air, testing it for scents of other wolves or humans. Muscles rippled under her almost silver colored pelt as she jog a few steps to a water source and bent her head down for a drink. Being in the prime of her life, the young female was both mentally and physically fit and capable of taking care of herself, but had adapted to the life of living in a Wildlife Park.

There was one thing that she felt a longing for and that was the company of other wolves. She threw back her head and let out a long wavering howl and then listened for a moment hoping that she would hear the answer of her kind, but in the back of her mind she had the feeling her call would go unanswered once more.

Whirlwind - July 18, 2006 04:41 AM (GMT)
Curled up in the far corner of the exhibit was a grey wolf, Whirlwind. She was curled up into a tight ball, drowsily resting. When her sharp ears caught the faint sounds of another wolf's howl, she quickly leapt up, eyes bright with curiousity. The young wolf tipped her head back and let out an answering call. Immediately she began trotting to the area where she thought she heard the call come from.

Her paws tapped the ground silently, as she doged the occasional bush in her way. Her ears were turned to the are of which she thought the wolf was. She moved quickly hoping the wolf wouldn't change her position. Obviously, I was on the other side of the exhibit, well, definately nowhere near this other wolf. Eventually after about 3 minutes(ages for Whirlwind) she spotted the water source and the wolf by it. She moved closer, halted front of her with a happy look on her face. She greeted the wolf in her usual bouncy manner.

Hi! I'm Whirlwind. What's your name?

Blue Storm - July 18, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
The white fae's ears perked at the sound of others. Blue Storm was laying under a tree near the center of the enclosure. She stood and looked towards the direction of the others. Blue Storm had a large build for a fae and was quite strong. She padded over towards the others and pulled back her lips into a smile.

"Hello. I'm Blue Storm."

She looked at the two and wondered about how they got into the refuge. Storm had gotten saved from hunters and brought into the enclosure. Before she got put in here, she was the pround alpha of a strong pack.

"Um, if you don't mind me asking...I know this is a fenced area but I still feel my nature in me. Do you mind if I make a pack here?"

Her head was raised slightly higher than the others, a show of leadership.

Silver - July 18, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)
Silver was startled to actually see another wolf in the exhibit, but two was unexpected. Her senses were alert as she greeted the two new wolves with a friendly wag of her tail and a bright look in her eyes.

”Hello Whirlwind and Blue Storm, I’m Silver.

She introduced herself politely and then pondering over Blue Storm’s question. Never before had she heard a wolf ask permission to start a pack, and somehow that didn’t seem right to her, but she decided it was a nice gesture.

”I think it’s a great idea, it would be nice to feel like I’m home.”

She said softly and noticed that the other wolf’s head was higher than hers. She raised her head higher, but not higher than Blue Storm’s head. She would never expect to be an alpha, but she wasn’t one to let everyone push her around.

Blue Storm - July 18, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)
The white wolf nodded her head an chuckled a bit at Silver. Her blue eyed gaze drifted over to the other wolf. All of the wolves were faes.

"Well...it looks like we'll have an all fem pack to start off."

Storm always looked towards the better. She seemed to find an advantage in everything. Only once in her life did she feel as if she we're rolling down the mountain she had been climbing for years, but that was in the past now.

(Silver/Shadow: your an admin right? so...could you change the ranks maybe? Thankies! And Silver can be a high rank if you want?)

Whirlwind - July 19, 2006 04:22 AM (GMT)
Whirlwind hadn't noticed a thing about the position of heads, she before had been brought up in a zoo and only recently transported here so she knew virtually nothing of the wild. She knew a few bits of information, like what a pack was, the ranks and that was about it. A dog-like grin appeared on her face as she spotted the other wolf appear. She responded eagerly to Blue Storm's question,

I don't mind! I've never been in a pack before though... What's it like?

She said this all in her usual bubbly manner. There was a delighted look on her face as she spoke, her head tilted curiously, she loved to try new things but she seemed to have a short attention span once the novelty wore off. She looked between waiting for one to answer her question. They were both older than her but she didn't care, she could still talk to them! She sat down, tired of standing up and doing nothing. She was itching to get up and leap around but instead she sat waiting for her question to be answered, deciding that it was more important.

Silver - July 20, 2006 01:36 AM (GMT)
Silver nodded in agreement and sat back on her haunches as she looked around, scanning the area.

”Yes an all fem pack until some males show up at least.”

She turned towards Whirlwind with a gleam of amusement in her soft eyes. Silver remembered what it was like to be in a pack of wolves, running around out in the wild without any boundaries.

”Packs are wonderful! Everyone works together in a huge group effort and we share most of everything. In my last pack we have kind and wise alphas that put the pack before themselves and everyone got along pretty well. I even came to rank under the alphas.”

She explained in a bright tone as she remembered what her life in the wild was like. Of course then she had been only a pup and everything had seemed perfect to her and she had been captured when she had just become an adult.

(OCC:I changed them and Mel I didn’t know what rank to give Whirlwind so do you have a preference?)

Blue Storm - July 20, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
Blue Storm remembered as well. Her life was happy. Being a leader was her thing. Storm was always a good and smart wolf. The rest of her old pack thought that nothing could bring her down. She always laughed at the idea because there was one thing, but Storm had never told anyone.

"Well, Silver, if you still want to rank under the alpha, I believe it is open."

Blue Storm laughed a bit. Of course it's open!

"And Whirlwind. Do you want to be one under that? I believe that is the Delta rank."

The white fae's eyes were glad that she might be able to make the fae feel welcome into something she wasn't acustom to.

(ooc-lol, well I just gave her deltess {did I spell that right? or should it be just delta female?})

Whirlwind - July 20, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
Whirlwind smiled brightly as she heard the explanation and Blue Storm's question. Her eyes gleamed brightly, and even though she was still itching to get up and race around she stayed to answer Blue Storm's question. She stood up and nodded her head to Blue Storm and answered in a bright tone

Of course!

She resisted saying anything else in case she had to wait for it to be answered. She turned around, narrowed her eyes at imaginary prey a short distance away and crawled forward a few steps then leaped towards her imaginary prey. She pounced on it, she slid a bit when she landed but managed to stop herself quickly. She looked behind her a lopsided grin on her face. She jogged back to the others and spoke with a little bit of laughter in her voice

Sorry about that, I just had to get rid of some energy.

Silver - July 21, 2006 02:03 PM (GMT)
Yes, and thank you.

Silver nodded as she gladly accepted her old ranking once again. She was glad that she was part of a pack again and that life would be more normal for now on. Her soft yellowish colored eyes gleamed with happiness and the old spark of experience and eagerness that had been lost when she had been captured returned to her eyes.

Her eyes danced merrily as she watched the younger wolf pounce on her imaginary prey. The sight reminded her of pups playing around outside while normal activity took place around the pack’s territory.

”It’s alright. I understand the feeling.”

Wolflover345 - September 18, 2006 11:49 PM (GMT)
Dark Slowly walked around in the forest she had been here for three days she had brought down one deer and had a good water supply and now he needed a pack so she started howling know it would be unanswered but still kept on into the night hopeing it would be answered

Stormbringer - September 26, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
Running, leping, turning, agian over the log! Stormbrigner was agian the wild dream of a wolf she'd been a week before! Again a bold and daring fae!
Suddenly, the silver wolf stopped. She saw the fence around her. Her ffreedom was not real. A phony freedom! She howled her anguish.
Someone! I'm here! Someone! Anyone! Another wolf, a fox, an owl! Anything alive but plants and humans, hear me! Find me...... I am alone.
Her amber eyes flashed, scenting others. The next best thing to being free. She ran to them, moving at a wild gallop, her full out speed breathtaking. Then, she plunged out of the brush. A group of females! She barked. Her tail and head were both up, she had been alpha before wandering away to scout for food, only to be captured. She was sure her friend, Inak, had taken over. She surveyed the group, and saw another dominant female. She strode effortlessly forward.
Lost, and now found, among friends.
She said, the greeting in her pack.
I have just now been captured to slavery in this human run place. I am Stormbrigner, Alpha Female, excuse me, former Alpha Female of the Shifting Mists pack. My heir, Inak, should now be ruling in my place. In the mountians where I was born, there were no other packs, so forgive me, I am unfamiliar with all of you. I've never not known a wolf, except new whelps from my pack, who smell a bit like thier sire and dam, whose scent I have not known.
She surveyed the small group again, hoping she had done the right thing, telling them her pack name, position, and such. Maybe they would repsect her. She had deserved it, back in Shifting Mists. So maybe they would know? And had her deep currnet of fear from humans been given away... But it wasn't really fear, she reminded herslef. I just don't like them!
