In certain believes, there are a Deity who in-charge of the Wen Fang Si Bao (pen, paper, ink and the ink-pad).
To show our respect, we have to "clean" the pen before using, and also to get the necessary blessing from the Deity In-charge.
But for nowadays, I seldom will see people "invite" the Pen Deity or "clean" the pen before using. Maybe some steps have being obmitted due to simplicity.

Haha, my dear bro, you mean you want to try to draw Hu on your own?
Anyway, nothing harmful will happen if you did it with a clear mind or no evil intension.
Everyone can learn to draw but remember to burn away the practise Hu after drawing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are not from any Sects, the practise Hus that you have drawn is just a normal art piece with scrabbling on paper.
But if you are from Sects, once you "stamp" or draw the "Hu Heart" onto the Hus, then it will become a tools.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just something to add.
Many people after learning the basic knowledge, they are able to "create" new Hus, but if the Hus created without a particular aim, it will still remain as a "useless" Hu.
javewu - May 26, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
Here are some of the Chantings used during the Drawing of Hus, different areas will have different chantings, but in whole, all energy given out are the same.
(Such chantings do need a few hand symbols to enhance in the power.)Due to some of the chanting are yet to be reveal to others, so some of the chanting are not shown here.

hahaha, dont worry about knowing chinese or not.. :P
maybe you can start by drawing a simple Hu with the Liu Zi Da Ming Zhou (Om Ma Ni Pad Meh Hom).
This 6 words can help you alot while you have it with you wherever you go...

dear bro,
is there any ruling that the fu must be drawn with the right hand? or is it permisible to draw with left hand. this is due to the fact that i am a left handed and it seems a little difficult to write with my right. please advise
regards
CT
kangtangman - May 27, 2006 09:00 PM (GMT)
Bro what I have read so far there is no ruling in using left or right hand most important is your heart must be straight. I think the challenging part is to recite the "chant" that is most difficult, don't know where to start? ;)
Bro Jave to write the Liu Zhi Da Min Zuo do I need to go through the procedures as posted? if so then problem for me.... also do I have to do it in the middle of the night? :o
chaytiong - May 28, 2006 11:03 AM (GMT)
dear bro thanks for the affirmation. i had to ask this matter because i have seen all my life ppl writing with right hand, so i needed to ask. it is the chanting that matters most due to the fact that it brings the fu to life and its purposes, however i do not have many chants that would be used for invoking the fu.
regards

okay, usually why people used their right hand to draw Hu, cos during the ritual, we need to hold our Master's hand symbol on our Left hand.
But if you are a left handed, dont worry, just imagine you are holding your master's symbol on your right hand will do, no restrictions on whether left or right hand.. :P

If you are writing the Liu Zi Da Ming Zhou, you no need to follow the procedure, anytime, anywhere you can do it.
Just do it with a sincere heart, think of what is the purpose of writing this Hu, Guan Xiang that as you write this Hu, your problem will be solved in no time...
After writing, go round the buring joss 3 times, keep it in an Ang Pao packet, nring it along with you.. :P

Bingo... you got the correct answer.
Yup, if you can recite the mantra thru out the process, this will somehow increase the "power".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How to check whether your reciting is adding force into the Hu you drawing?
Here's a little hint, if you can recite the the mantra smoothly thru out the whole process, this means that you have attain what you wish too, but if your reciting tend to stop or being "block" or your throat seems like choking, means that you will need more concentration to do the drawing or reciting.
dear sis,
these dates are the dates that being selected by the Masters in the past as the un-auspicious dates for drawing tailsman. for those who have yet to reach a certain level of cultivation and try to draw tailsman on these dates, they wil somehow attract the un-necessary friends and end-up more troubles than to help oneself or the others.
oic....didnt know ab it.. :D haha..thanks..
This is the more easy method of making Talisman. Not because this way is easier then it is trifling. Its also as poweful as the "hard and difficult" way :P
The Gods and Sages are very kind. They know that everybody have different spiritual achievement and understanding. Therefore besides the "high & deep" method and lesson, They also hand down the "easy" method.
Just for reminding, when you draw a Talisman/Hu you must keep calm and steady as possible. Draw the Hu in single breath-taking and hold it, and release it when you have done draw it.
1. Deity's power enhancement (Shenming Jiachi)
After you finished draw the Talisman (or Talismans), placed on the altar, light an insence, invite the Deity, and sincerely ask to enhance (jiachi) your Talisman. While you ask, visualize the Deity emanating White/Golden light to your Talisman, and your Talisman becomes powerful and it radiate a light too.
2. Mantra's power enhancement (Zhouli Jiachi)
Recite/chant mantra focused on your Talisman. Any mantra will do. For instance, if you used to recite Dabei Zhou recite it 3x, 5x, 7x, 15x, or 21x. If you used to recite Golden Ray incantation (Jinguang Zhou) recite it 3x, 5x, 7x, 15x, 21x.
3. Self's Spiritual power enhancement (Ziji Fali Jiachi)
The last one, enhance you Talisman with your own spiritual power/energy. Use Sword gestures (Jian zhi), Vajra gestures (Jingang Zhi) to enhance you Talisman. concentrate and visualize that your body emanating energy enhancing your Talisman.
Although is similar with the usual method, this method is more easy. This quite help if you are still a beginner, or your ability is still no high enough.
Point to ponder: Before you draw the Talisman and enhance it, You should cleansing you body and mind. Just the same as before you do the Gongke. Recite the cleansing Mantras.
I'll wait your feedback, specially from you Jave ;)
Hahahahaha, I agree on what our Bro Fox_Prince had commented.
Actually to be true, the Golden Brightness (or Golden Ray) Mantra is very important while someone is doing certain Spiritual Ritual, here especially, while writing a Tailsman. It not only enhance the energy onto the tailsman, but it also allow oneself to increase his/her energy while "getting" the energies from the surrounding to reach a certain level of "Spiritual Sense".
As for the cleansing of mind, soul and mouth, it's a must for ALL taoists or people doing rituals.
One thing to add, before doing your tailsman, you must also cleanse the surrounding by reciting the Jing Tian Di Shen Zou (Cleansing of Heaven and Earth Mantra) plus spraying the promogranate leave water around to make sure that no negative energies gather around the area (PS: while reciting the Mantra, you will need to draw an invisible tailsman onto the water).
