Nowadays, many people are using the name of religion to earn a living, do you agree on it?

If you agree, have you ever come across such incidents (or being cheated)?

Share with us your views, we do hope to learn more from your experience, etc.

Let's shoot...

Use of religion to earn a living is for survival. Of course there are extremes not tolerable.

I've seem many medium not able to keep a full time employment due to their mediumship as they have to take long leave during festival times, house visits, 24 hours on call!,etc... Thus in order to survive, they become 'full-time' medium.

This is also the case of Taoist priest. If they don't provide their services, what are they going to live on? In the past, Taoist priest had to cultivate through years of practises, wandering the world (chou jiang hu), thus they provide services like fortune telling, feng shui consultations, rituals, etc, in order to live.

However, nowadays such services have become a profession/trade provided by many 'layman', i.e. not taoist priest. Many years ago, my brother-in-law consulted a feng shui master (as they longed for a child ). His whole house was renovated accordingly to this master. Master bedrooms toilets blocked (can't be used as it located at his lucky area); Kitchen cannot be used; An expensive waterfall was installed in the main hall (because he lack 'water' elements). In total he spent more than S$10k. After more than three years, nothing happened...he's still childless and this vocation luck didn't improve a single bit! Finally decided to sell off the house. Before buying his new house, he was smart enough this time to consult Mazhu. On Mazhu advice, he moved into his new home, did all the necessary rituals, happily settled down. In the second year, they have a child! Needless to say, they adopted him to Mazhu.

Please don't be mistaken. I don't condemn feng shui master. There are some really good master. This is only a story of my brother-in-law. "A swallow doesn't make a summer". Isn't it?
