On the 22nd day of lunar 4th month, I witnessed a simple taoist ritual in respects of Wen Chang yun chun (aka wen zai shen) during my visit to my master in Surabaya.

Shifu (dressed in full taoist priest robe, a yellow overall inside with a red outer robe) started the ceremony with a short introduction of Wen Chang yun chun's history. Shifu advises us that one must share one's wealth so that there will be lesser sufferings (of the poor). The important of gaining wealth is to help the poor and a person should not be blinded by one's wealth.

Immediately after the briefying, the actual prayer commenced. The prayer lasted only about twenty minutes (with soft beautiful taoist music on the background).

Then followed by the initiation of three new members. Shifu invited San Tai Lao Chun to blessed these three members. The new members was taught a special chant (a special password to communicate with the deity) and I witnessed the process of the initial receiving of blessing when these new members, while in a half lotus position, the hand moves, controlled by unseen 'forces'.

During the prayer processes, I could see a luminous ring of light just behind Shifu's head. It was a very soft white light that moves like a wave.

After the simple ceremony, everyone stay behind to chat till the early hours. No one seem eager to leave.

wah bro reborn by see the light can means u r attain another level of cultivation lioz ....i am now cultivating this stage the stage of inner imagination i suppose that is in english .... chinese we say ling gan .... :D

Ling Gan is abit basic for you, 'cos in certain way, bro william, you are able to have connections with so-called your bosses in mind.

Maybe for you, you shall have skip this step and proceed to the next level, Guan Xiang.

You sure can achieved that process. :P

No..no...I'm only a beginner. I was very fortunate and fated to meet my master ( a rare and true taoist master, who abilities are beyond physical / biological limits!) and hope to learn the true religious taoism.

I prayed that more people will walk the true tao path (i.e. xiu dao, the correct way).

Bro what is guan xiang ???let me go n ling wu ... nonono ling gan certain path alot of stuff for me and i believe i am still learning how to use it ... hahaa

Many people have mistaken that Guan Xiang is some rituals that need a Master or Higher Leader to lead or guide you on before you consider "pass", but actually, Guan Xiang is a process that everyone, normal people, un-educated people, etc, can do without any instruction. :P

Benefits from this Guan Xiang (almost all religions are using this process to gain connection with their Deities in heart, but different religions will have different interpretion) are:

1. connection with the Deities in your heart at a very easy process

2. attain a certain level of cultivation (which somehow can improve your certain energy)

3. do not need any drawing of tailsman during the invitation of Deities (quite good for certain Toh Tao.. :P)


I'm sure there are more benefits, just that I have yet to come across.

Everyone can try to have "Guan Xiang"...

3--6 months's time.

many people have thous about that (become XIAO) before they go into the Guan Xiang process.

for me, I do doubt on this issue before.

but case to case, I cant say no or say yes (these depend on quite alot of issues, like character, the Spiritual Master you have, what's the connection you want to, etc)

some people can go thru meditation to attain the level of Guan Xiang, some people can just "click" onto the process of Guan Xiang at a very fast pace.

Here are some simple explanation on Guan Xiang:

With proper guidance is like a road map to a traveller. Without a map, the traveller will take longer or even lost (worst still, zhou huo).

Guan Xiang is it from Buddhism ?
i have read it somewhere but just cannot remember.

It is like Mediation you focus on the GOD that you trying to get connect , is it this way ??

I have did that about nine months ago and almost every night. That was the time, where my stress level hit the higest point.

yup, people have always think that Guan Xiang is a process or practise originated in Buddhism, but actually not so accurate.

In other religions, they do have a certain themes dedicated to the so-called Guan Xiang in Buddhism. (this maybe need sometime to retrieve the info.)

To be more exact, everyone has the ability to Guan Xiang and also, reach a certain level of Guan Xiang, maybe it be in energy of helping others, may it be the energy to manifest certain issues or may it be the power of healing, etc.

once we are able to concentrate on the Guan Xiang (not stubbornly forcing yourself to Guan Xiang), you will sure to have certain result after the session.

PS: many people have think that Guan Xiang is just sitting down, quietly without any disturbance, start thinking or imagining certain pictures or views that you want to see or feel, actually is not.

during the process, you have to calm almost the whole body of yours down, calm the heart, do not have any other thoughts.
