Alot of our friends might have come across this mantra, but never have a chance to really understand the background of this mantra, upon request and the great interest of so many friends here, I will do a quick and brief intro on this mantra - one of the Taoist Eight Spiritual Mantra, known as Jin Guang Shen Zhou.
In Taoism, we do have 2 forms of Jin Guang Shen Zhou, the longer version is known as Da Jin Guang Shen Zhou, which will take at least 5 or more minutes to recite the whole passage whereas Jin Guang Shen Zhou, the shorter version, takes only about less then a minute to complete reciting.
From the various Taoist Records, Jin Guang Shen Zhou appeared in the Mantra-records that being compiled by a Taoist Priest in Song Dynasty. This Record was known as Tai Shang San Dong Shen Zhou.
In the Record, Jin Guang Shen Zhou was being placed in the Thunderial Department Mantras Section, meaning that, this is one of the Mantras that was closely related with the various Heavenly Marshals in the Thunderial Department. If you will to look closely in the Mantra, on the 9th sentence & 11th sentence (refer to the link above), the Title of Thunder Deities are being mentioned, this prove that, in the very beginning, this Mantra was imparted by Deities or Priests that got relationship with Shen Xiao Taoist School or Qing Wei Taoist School.
During Song Dynasty, our Zheng Yi Sect 30th Heavenly Master Zhang Xu Jing did commented on this Mantra (brief translation):
This is a Mantra that allow the Enhancement from the Initial Energy from the Universe to be bestowed onto one person. By mastering this Mantra, one will be able to summoned the Deities in-order to achieve the objective of Cleansing, Cultivation & Opening of Wisdom, etc.
From here, you could see that, this Mantra was being widely & commonly used in Zheng Yi Tian Shi Sect during Song Dynasty under the leading of the 30th Generation Heavenly Master Zhang.
So, how to do Cultivation upon this Mantra?
Many people have enquiry me on that, and my reply are:
1 - you must be an Official Taoist or accepted Disciple of any Taoist Schools, in-order to allow one self to evoke the Initial Energy from the Three Realms and also the Protection from any of the Taoist Ancestors. For Layman Taoists, one self can just do normal reciting to gain the possible blessings from the Three Realms, due to Layman Taoists do not have the authority and ability in doing Summoning & Commanding, certain effects will not be enhanced or happened.
2 - you must put down whatever one self have learnt from other Religions or other Non-Taoist Schools, in-order to prevent the different form of energies from crashing & fighting. In long-run, one self will be hurt and seriously harm if the various energies keep crashing & fighing among themselves.
3 - you must only start Practicing this mantra after the gaining the permission from the Master or the School, if not, any fatal outcome, no one will be able to provide the immediate assistance, etc.
4 - you must be sincere and faithful in learning the mantra, cos, once the energy emitted from the mantra has merged into one's physical body, mind & soul, whatever actions that one self involved in will be recorded and after-effect will be "repaid" accordingly.
Only by accepting the above mentioned-issues and followed closely, if not, No Masters will imparted the Hidden Set of Skills to the disciples or students, to prevent any fatal outcome, etc.
People might felt that, all these are just Chinese Characters, what harm can they bring to people and this LARGE World?
Like what I have mentioned in other postings, Energy is something that till today, No One can actually used good terms to do a detailed and accurate explanations.
As Mortal, we can play or joke with things that are physically visible, physically touchable, physically hearable, etc, but never ignore or neglect the Invisible Forces that Energy emitted out, cos if a little minor mistake, sometime it can lead to Scary & Unsolvable outcome - one of Unbelieavle Creation by Energy is known as Big Explosion, only after Big Explosion then this Univserse is being formed.
