Dear All,
I am pretty new to this forum and have gained much insight into Taoism and the vast culture and teachings behind Taoism after reading through this forum. This forum had reinforced my understanding and enhanced my belief in Taoism.
I frequent Loyang Tua Pek Gong temple. Last week, the temple was offering "Mending Fate" rituals. Devotees who wants this ritual performed will have to register with their name, birth date & time, address.
After paying a small registration fee, you will be given a tray of offerings (huat kuay, sou tao, mee suah, spring onions, 2 red eggs) and some incense paper and joss sticks. With these offerings, you will proceed to the main hall where the taoist prist will bless you with his whip and horn.
When the blessings are done, you will have to peel the red eggs and if you wish, get a red stamp on the back of a shirt.
This is my first time going through this ritual, and may i ask the seniors and mentors here, what is the symbolic meanings behind these rituals, and the items of offerings.
Thank you.

This is a Taoist Ritual conducted by Taoist Priests to assist the Devotees to get their Luck "change" in-order to get the good blessing from the Deities to bestow upon the Devotee.
For different Taoist Schools, different form of such Ritual will be conducted differently.
For the one that you participated in is consider as a simple and quick one, whereas a more complicated one will take hours or Days to complete.
huat kuay - to represent Prosperity & Wealth
sou tao - to represent Longevity & Health
mee suah - to represent Longgevity & Good Life-span
spring onions - to represent Knowledge & Wisdom
2 red eggs - to represent Reunion & Fulfilled
Thank you Master Jave Wu for your unconditional efforts to enlighten us. I believe it would be most beneficial if we were to understand Taoism and accept Taoism as our way of life and to guide us in the correct path.
I hope to learn more from you someday if i were given the opportunity.
