I don't know whether it is good or advisable to combine different religions or thoughts together. Will the "new improved religion" equal to all advantages of
each individual religions? In science things are easier. Elements are the simplest substances. They can form compound or mixture.... 'pray'

This is why, an Upright Taoist School wont combine any such Cultures, cos in Taoism, we have more than enough Cultures & Teachings to promote.

My sentiments exactly! I worship Gautama Siddharta and Laozi and their disciples not because I think they have supernatural power to save and protect me and my family and friends or because of wealth and fame. I love their wisdom and philosophy but I don't know whether to call myself as a Taoist or Buddhist. As for Confucius, he was more of a social, moral and political philosopher and lacked the analytical and metaphysical thinking of Taoism and Buddhism. But the 3 religions at least have something in common; they do not advocate a almighty creator God which we have to sub ;) mit to.

Yes, what you say is true.

To promote a Culture or to do Preaching of a Religion is not the same as just doing honouring & respecting.

For your case, mostly yopu are under the category of Honouring & Respecting. You cant dont go under any Religion, as long as you are sincere, you are encouraged to respect any Spiritual Characters of any Spiritual Belief.

As for an Official Students or Disciples of A Spiritual Belief, then he or she will not be able to do mix-promotion, rather then the Belief that he or she is in, this is to prevent conflict and also any mis-intepretion on the Upright Teaching of the Individual Belief, etc.

So a Taoist should just worship Taoist deities while a Buddhist should just worship Buddha and Bodhisattva and not worry about offending the other religion, right? What about people who pray to both? "Bu zhi zhe wu zui?" The concept of karma and samsara are from Hinduism and then also used by Buddhism. But does Taoism teaches these 2 concepts too? 'xiaofo'
