Title: Templing in Malaysia, JB (Part 3)
Description: Chen Cuo Gang, a 163 yrs temple
REBORN - November 14, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
In 1844, a Chinese immigrant named Tan Kai Shun [陳開順] was decreed a piece of land to be developed in a place now known as Kangar Terbau. To the early Hainanese settlers, its known as Chen Cuo Gang [陈厝港].
Today, the Hainan Clan Association is still there. Here, there are two original temples still stood, namely;
i) Ling Shan Gong , a Xuan Tian Shang Di's temple and
ii) Tian Huo Sheng Jun (aka Mazu).

On the altar, I found this row of "Ki-Leng". This is interesting stuff. During festivals, a visiting "entity" will process this Ki-Leng and it will need at least two strong muscled man to hold onto it. It will move (no 'move' is an understatement), it will fly around and banged onto the the ritual table at will. These movements are a ritual to pay respects. These Ki-Leng is very common in Malaysia but not so common in Singapore.

I was looking for the Fire General (Snake) and the Water General (Turtle) but instead I found this:
