Day 4: Cheng Huang Miao [城 隍 庙]
An ancient temple first built in the late 1900s and renovated in 1991. This is the bigger Cheng Huang Miao. There's another Cheng Huang Miao which I will share later.
The side quarters:
The main altar:
Yan Luo Wang sits on the right side:
Yin Yang Shi sits at the left side: (also see note (i) below)
On both side are Bai wu Chang (better known as Tua Ya Pek), Hei Wu Chang (Ji Ya Pek) and the neitherworld 24 Si Si (Cheng Huang Ye's assistances in charge of various functions like customs, history, soldiers, manners, records, etc)...
This ancient Cheng Huang temple is situated near the Yongchun Hosiptal. The temple compound size is equivalent to a football field.
On every lunar 15th day, this temple will conduct Taoist rituals to bless the public for good health as well as rid of negatives influences.
This temple celebrates Cheng Huang’s anniversary on the 23rd day of Lunar 5th month. On the 28th day of the Lunar 7th month, rituals for the Ghost month “pu-toh” will be conducted by Hian Eng Dang, leaded by Taoist Priest, Master Lee Kwang Beng (BBA).
This temple is not only very well known in Yongchun but is also a cultural heritage of Yongchun.
