My WebpageTo all our tao bros,

Hian Eng Toh Tua 显应道坛 will be celebrating the birthday of Zhang Gong Fazhu 张公法主 from 11st of September until 17th of September this year. Due to the cost constraint, we will be hosting the event at Yongchun Central of Fujian Province, China.

The celebration will begin with a consecutive of five days fujian street wayang and follow by a variety show. On the last day, we will be putting up an open air movie. A blessing ritual will be conducted on the 15th of September and we are glad to have our special guest from Singapore Taoism Forum, REBORN, to witness the event.

We are pleased to have a group of Australia Chinese will be carrying their home made Zhang Gong Fazhu's statue for this occasion.

We are looking forward for the event and would like to share this news to all our friends. 'fusheng'

The procession covers over 20 km (on foot). It was a relieve on reaching our own premises:

Fire crackers were lighted to welcome the deities. (In fact, during the procession, many household fired fire-crackers as a respects for the passing Deities):

Once the invited Deities 'settled' down, a ritual was performed to thanks Them. The ritual started off with a musical performance (using traditional chinese muscial instruments only). This is followed by the actual chantings and prayers (which lasted almost half an hour).

Next comes the blessing of the Wayang (self-bulit) stage with requesting the permission of the Du Ti Gong's permission to use the land area. Talismans were pasted onto the centre of the stage to bless the performing troopes and another pasted at one corner of the Stage to mark the boundaries.

After lunch, there were not much activities as the 'locals' took their afternoon nap (due to the hot summer heat). I roamed the streets and peeped into every shops and household (like a mountain tortise/green horn) and woo....lah...... stumbled on one house performancing kan-hoon! I quickly snapped some shots with my mini ditigal camera and took a few video clips too!

The highlight of the evening was the Wayang show. Fire-crackers and fire-works explored to mark the begining of the show. The show started off with a magnificant performance by the main drummer that drew attention and the appreciative audiences.
