hi doom angel,

Its not usual or common for a normal person to dedicate an altar to Natok at home, but since you have done that, you shall treat it as respect.

Natok is just like any other chinese earth deity, the most important of mode of offering wil be -> ur sincerity.

Morning, Noon and Evening offering of incenses are the must and it's the practise for all Taoists.

As for 1st n 15th, actually fruits will be enough, but since your practise is by offering vegetarian food, good also.

As for Friday prayer, even-thou Natok is a title that the Muslim used to address certain ranking of authority, but not necessary to have a "Muslim" Natok in your place -> hope u understand what I mean :P, so no need that.

As for josspaper, just normal josspaper that we chinese offer to the Deities on every 1st n 15th, as for Wang Sheng Qian, you shall know that, that's only mend for passed-away and souls, etc, not very approaite for "him".

Hope that my simple intro does help u to solve ur doubts. :P

hi javewu,

thanks for reply. My house not really have an altar ,Na Tok Kong was already at my house compound since my family moved in.My house don't have altar because my father is katholik(not strong believer though) and my mother somehow choosen as "long term tau keh" for one Na Cha temple so every year she got 2 "Na Cha Fu" that suppose to be place at altar for worship since we don't have an altar, the "Na Cha Fu" is put at front door and worship like pai tin kong :( (I have try my best to worship Na Cha too) .I have gone through some search at website that mention about worship earth local deity suppose to be held on 2nd & 16th,we can worship them with meat and fruits, they are consider "Im shen" and we can pray with mantra so that the Na Tok Kong also can be rebirth to higher realm.I'm not sure how true is it please correct me...thanks again for kindly reply :P

hi doom angel,

Just to check with you did the Hu come with the joss-urn?

If the Hu did not come with a urn, you all can skip the paying respect to the Hu, cos the Hu is just a Hu that symbolised the Temple or the Organisation, you all can just treat it as a normal protectation or blessing HU, no need to offer incenses.

As for our Chinese Earth Deities, yes, certain group of Taoists or Chinese will choose to make offerings on the 2nd n 16th day, but not necessary for all, as long as you offer offerings on the 1st n 15th are enough :P

As for our Chinese Earth Deities, we dont treat them as Yim, cos they cant be Yim, unless for certain reason, if not, for Earth Deities, in Taoism, we have our own praising or Spiritual Mantras dedicated to them.

As for Natok, cos Natok can consider as a very "new" Deity in our Chinese worshipping culture (remember, Natok doesnt belongs to Islam, but folks culture), so alot of methods of worshipping and beliefs are being added to him...

PS: always choose the most comfortable way for you to make offerings, Deities wont mind if you dont give any expensive offerings. The most important is your sincerity.
