“Tai sui” fu (talisman)
During the Lunar New Year period, many devotees who are in conflict (offended) the “Tai sui” will proceed to temple to offer prayers to “Tai sui” and obtain a “Tai sui” fu ( talisman ) for protection with the expectation that the spiritual power of the talisman will help to eliminate the strong forces of “Tai sui”.
The “Tai sui” fu (talisman):

How to use this “Tai sui” fu?
Before using the talisman, make a wish, holding the talisman in front of you, then fold it into a triangular shape and carry with you or place it in the wallet or handbag.
How to discharge the old talisman?
Due to the annual rotation of “Tai sui”, the “Tai sui” fu must be renewed every year. How then do we discard the old talisman? Actually we should offer a thanksgiving prayer to the old talisman at the end of year before changing to the new one.
Methods of the thanksgiving prayer:
i) In the morning on the lunar 24th day of the last lunar month, offer thanksgiving prayer to “Tai sui” that did not conflict with one’s own Chinese zodiac sign. (Check here : http://z14.invisionfree.com/taoism_singapo...?showtopic=1597
ii) Offer a stack of “Yuan Bao” and “Shou Jin” and burn them together with the old “Tai sui” talisman (either inside or out side) the house or in front of the Deity statue.
“Tai sui”, according to the Taoist is the most powerful of the annual Deities in charge of affairs of the people throughout the year. Due to his supreme position, most people respect the supremacy with fear. In order not to offend “Tai sui”, those in conflict/offended the “Tai sui” during the current year will offer prayers to “Tai sui” during the Lunar New Year period and to obtain the “Tai sui” talisman for protection and safety.
