Found this old ancient temple in a corner of Cameron Highland. A rare but precious portrait of Zi Ma Shen Wang (司马圣王) :

A brief history:
[B]Zhang Xun (709-757BC) was born in Tang Deng (town). He was an Imperial graduate of high ranking. He was also a highly respected and fearless military General. He was respected for suppressing the rampant bandits that was terrorizing the country. He fought more than 400 battles and killed more than 20,000 rebellious bandits in the country of Anhui. However, he was surrounded and due to lack of food supplies, was finally captured by the bandits. While in captivity, he even lectured those bandits for being inhuman and caused harm to the fellow country folks. He was eventually killed. The country folks built a shrine in remembrance.
Zhang Xun was later conferred the title of “The Grand Duke and Divine Guidance of the Precious Mountain”; “The Terminator of Devils and Demons, the Divine Zhang Zhen Jun”, by the Jade Emperor. Later, he was better known as “The Grand Duke Zi Ma Shen Wang”.

张巡（709年—757年）唐邓州南阳人，开元进士，历清河、
真源二县令。时任真源县令的张巡起兵讨之，与雍丘太守许远（709年—757年）一道率领军民坚持这个军事和经济要地的睢阳，
诏拜御史中丞。叛军至，他日中二十战，气不稍衰，共进行大小四百余战，杀叛军十二万人，阻止叛军侵扰江淮，后被困，数月不解，粮尽掘鼠罗雀至于杀妾以食士卒。时贺兰进明为节度使，屯临淮，忌巡声威，坐视不救。城陷，张巡被执，骂贼遇害。张巡牺牲后，人们为了纪念他的功绩，纷纷立庙祀之。道教玉帝封为“宝山忠靖景佑福德真君司马圣王，亦称斩鬼张真君，其像为白面黑须幞头持笏的文臣装束，有联曰：“忠勇称司马，英圣号圣王”。附神有许远、部将南霁云、雷万春、妻刘氏、妾柳氏，还有雷海青等。

hi dao xiong may i knw 张巡 he frm which 朝代

Dao Xiong nin hao!

Should be during the Tang Dynasty, thus the date should be 709-757AD.

All the portriat fascinates me, especially the black and white one. Everything faded with time but not the face! Still as clear as new.

A must revisit on my next retreat there!
