Could someone advise on how often Joss paper should be burned at home? What is the full process for worshiping the kimsin at home on 1st and 15th of each month? 'lianhua'

For burning of Josspaper, usually we only do it on the 1st and 15th of the month or on the birthday of the Deities (that you pay respect at home).

As for the process of the ceremony on the 2 days. Try to keep it simple and sincerely.

1 – clean the altar in the morning
2 – clear off the excess incenses leg in the urn
3 – refill the oil in the lamp
4 – change flower (if any)
5 – wash the fruits and then place them on plate and then bring them to the altar (5 quantity for each type of fruits, do not prepare the fruit on the altar)
6 – offer the hot (prepared) tea onto the altar (usually 3 cups will do)
7 – light the candles or on the red lights on the altar
8 – light the incenses (with your left hand) and sincerely offer them infront of the altar (saying your name and your request – in any languages)
9 – simply make 3 light bows infront of the Deities
10 – placed the incenses into the urn
11 – make another simple bow
12 – make a step backward and then walk off from the altar area

the ceremony consider ended.

After about 15minutes, you can burn off the Josspapers.
