(Extracted & condensed from www.fazhugong.com.my)

1131AD: Born on the 16th Day of the 10th lunar month, in the village of Jiudu, Fujian. Named Zhang Ming (章敏). His father is Zhang Ren (章仁). His mother name is Huang Shi Shi (黄氏十). She was pregnant for 14 months before giving birth to Zhang Ming! Zhang Ming was very intelligent and like to learn all sort of martial arts. He was married. He hates evils and will not hesitate to give a helping hand. Later he went to work in a seaport of Minqing and was accepted as a student in a monastery in Pu An, thus becoming a Taoist. He learned many Taoist magic skills and martial arts. He also mastered the art of the Five Elements techniques.

1156AD. Age 26 Met Ji Guan and Xiao Ming. The three of them get along very well and soon become sworn brothers. They then left for FuZhou village of Yang Jiao Zhou to further learn more magical skills and martial arts. At Lu Shan, they meet Taoist Master Zhou Zou. Xiao Min was given a Taoist name of Lang Qing (郎庆). The three brothers worked and practiced their skills with great vigor. After 49 days, they mastered all the 36 heavenly stars formations, 72 Earthly Branch magical combinations, and various divinations skills as well. Master Zhou instructed Lang Qing to plant paddy daily and at the same time also taught them various martial arts. Lang Qing learned very fast and soon he had mastered all the skills and martial arts from Master Zhou.

1168AD. Age 38. Lang Qing first traveled to Qian Tang and was welcomed by Huang Bi Yu. While there, he suddenly heard Ji Guan’s call (by his magical telepathic skill) for help. Immediately left on a cloud and flew towards the cave that had trapped Ji Guan. Lang Qing used his magical skills to call upon thousand of celestial army to assist in this battle. On seeing the huge rock that was blocking the exit, and thick smoke coming out from small outlets, immediately use a huge hammer and with all this strength, broke the huge rock into pieces. Unfortunately, the blow was so powerful that a piece of small rock hit Ji Guan’s head and caused a huge swell on his forehead. Lang Qing was so embrassed that his face turn red! (This is the reason for his red face). At this moment, Lang Rui also arrived (riding a cloud). On seeing what happened to Ji Guan’s forehead, Lang Rui was so angry that his face turned green (this is why he has a green face). The three brothers then combined their power and finally subdued the demons. These demons then become the Wu Tong Gui (Five Pass Devils) and kept as their protective assistances. The three brothers then stayed at the Shi Nui Tong to cultivate and improve on their skills.

Lang Qing was grateful to Huang Bi Yu for his parent burial. He built a memorial hall and used his Taoist skill to protect and bless the Huang’s household. Initially, there were 18 family lineages in Qian Tang, but only the Huang’s lineage survives (due to Lang Qing’s Taoist skills).

1174AD. Age 44 The three brothers meet again at Shi Nui Shan, reporting their achievements and sharing on their experiences of their missions. After their meetings and discussions, they decided to visit their master in Lushan (to seek further education). They cut bamboo to make a draft and carried it to Mingjian River. They used their magical power to cross many rivers and rough seas and finally reached their destination. However, Master Zhou already knew of their exploits and knowing that they have learned everything from him, decided to leave the place, thus the three brothers couldn’t find him around. The three brothers then kneed on the ground and kowtow three times (as showing respects to their Master), then returned to Fujian. Later, those people who saw the three brothers on the bamboo draft crossing those rivers and rough seas knew that they were deities.

1182AD Age 52, now fully completed and accomplished his mission, leaving behind a Taoist magical golden bell and a precious sword. He bid Huang Bi Yu the last farewell and requested Huang to build a shrine in Shi Nui Shan and to offer foods every 30th day of the 12th lunar month.

Later, people honored them as The Trinity Deity (叁圣君).

A poem was written to honor them:

“石壶叁圣久传名,正一长存鬼蜮惊,
济世利民安各地,除妖镇恶荫群生。”

(Meaning:
Shi Hu well-known Trinity Deity, protects all from evils and demons,
Saving all and bringing peace, by destroying devils and demons.)
