Hi there,

was wondering if anyone can give me advice on where best to place the kitchen stove?

I am currently renovation our new place, and is a little vexed about where the kitchen stove and sick should be placed in the kitchen I have read that we should not place the stove in the West and north-west direction because that is the weath and heaven's gate respectively. I am wondering if i can place it Facing North instead?

the south of the kitchen is the door/entrance. And to the east, the front half is the washing /window area, and the latter half is the toilet. so, there is only 3 direction i can place the stove. North, West.. east (outside the wall of the toilet, beside the entrance, which i think is inappropriate and awkward).

I am having a headache now due to this. please can someone give me some advise.

Firstly, welcome to our family.

Good to ask this as the stove is a very important item in Feng Shui. (You'll find many Feng Shui expert here but I'm only a beginner green horn <_< ).

On the best place/position, one need your kua number (this can be derives from your date of birth). Most important to it point the gas inlet nostril at your best direction, to tap n max your wealth luck.

The auspicious and inauspicious numbers are also indicated.

so if my best position is to the west or north west, i can put the stove at these position?

I am also thinking about having an island kitchen worktop to solve the problem. Do u think it is a good idea, or that the stove is better to be placed against the wall. however, that would be against the toilet wall, which i do not think is a very good idea at all.

Also, Do you have any recommendation of good fengshui course in singapore?

FS is complex n subjective but very interesting. But you need to get a good FS teacher. Better to do some research on your own first before enrolling in any course or you'll fell disappointed.

There are 2 methods for the placement of stove. One is the 24 Mountains method and the other is the 8 Mansions method.

24 Mountains Method:
1st, you have to find the central point of your house. Then divided it into 24 positions. The good position will be yin(寅)、jia(甲)、mao(卯)、chen(辰)、xun(巽)、si(巳)、bing(丙)、wu(午)、wei(未)、shen(申)、geng(庚)、xu(戌).

8 Mansions Method:
1st, you have to find out your gua number. Then from your gua number you need to find out your 4 good positions and 4 bad positions. Your stove should sit on your bad position and face your good direction. 灶要坐凶位（绝命、六煞、五鬼、祸害），灶口要向吉方（生气、天医、延年、伏位）。
