Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple, a temple located at the East Sea Shore of Singapore, a very special temple with the combination of Hinduism and local Chinese-Islam Deity ~ Natoh Kong.

In the main Hall, the main Deity - Tua Pek Kong (Taoism known him as Fu De Zheng Shen, folks as Tu Di Gong or in SEA as Da Bo Gong) is being worshipped, on the left hand side of Tua Pek Kong is an altar dedicated to Tai Sui and the right altar is dedicated to the FIVE Directional Camp Generals (Wu Ying Shen Jiang).

For the title of the 5 Generals, till today, I can certainly sure that, this is the only temple that uses the most accurate titles for each of them.

Every year during the birthday period of Tua Pek Kong, this temple will have a list of program planned and line-up for devotees.

During the end-of-lunar-year period, the temple will also arrange local famous Taoist Priests to conduct the "Paying of Respect" to the Great Northern Dipper ritual for the devotees.

For those who are interested, shall visit this temple as soon as possible, if not, the temple will be relocated to another venue in abt August 2007.

Ack to Mr Victor Yue of Taoism Singapore eGroup

Hi folks,
Just a couple of hours ago, sardine-packed into a car, we went visiting Loyang Tua Pek Kong - Matt, Jave, Aaron, Tim, CW and me - hoping to soak in the old atmosphere of Loyang Tua Pek Kong.

We found the shelves and the abandoned statues gone. So were the photographs that used to line the walls. Supposedly, they were already transferred to the new temple. There was still a crowd, and as we left, more cars were coming in. Interestingly, the visitors seemed to be in their 30ies.

There were new statues placed in the temple, presumably to be brought over to the new temple on 3 Aug. I understand that on the past Monday morning at 5am, the new statues were consecrated. There were quite many, big and small. There were also the 60 Tai Suis.

Leaving behind a disappointed friendly dog, we drove over to the new temple, only to be greeted by two security guards telling us that we could not go in. (^^) We assured him we did not intend to go in, but walked around its perimeter to try to fell the qi of the new temple. (^^) The new temple is huge, if not somewhat concrete and modern, and not rustic. (^^)

We managed to peep into the rear hall, which looked grand. I suppose we will only be able to get a good feel once the Statues have been moved in on 3Aug. I heard that the actual opening of the doors could be at 3am on 4 Aug.
