Hi,
My wife is a catholic and we are not familiar the rules (esp in singapore) if she can enter a taoist temple to pay respect to my dad (passed away and urn is located there). I read somewhere that catholic also has the custom of ancestor worship, can a catholic carry joss sticks, burning incense papers for ancestors ? I would appreciate any weblink for more detailed literature on this topic.
Thanks,

Dear Bro,
Dont worry abt that restriction, this only apply to those who are always against the chinese customs, etc.
A catholic of cos can pay his/her respect to the ancestors by holding incenses or even burning of joss-paper.
All races, religions, etc, can enter any worshipping venue, there's NO spiritual or mortal rules that are fixed for anyone, so dont worry.
But the most important is that, ur wife must feel comfortable when doing her respect paying, if she doesnt like it, dont force her, everything in the spiritual comes from sincerity in the mind, soul and heart, anything done by using force will have a negative effect.
Hope my answer do clear some of ur doubts.

iavewu,
Thanks for the reply. That makes me feel better.
To reassure my wife's mind, are there any literature online that covers this topic ? Maybe this has been discussed before somewhere. I googled, but don't find much.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taoism_in_Singaporementioned Catholic also practise ancestor worship.
Thanks,
