This is new version? Most commonly it will have a copy of the Tung Shu (with the page on Zhang Tien Shi opened).

The round container represents the Heaven.
The rice represents all the stars.
The sword represents the Green Dragon.
The weighing scale represents the White Tiger.
The scissors represent the Red Bird.
The ruler represents the Black Tortoise.
There are indeed many types/versions of dipper lamp. I've seen some items like fans, abacus, brush, Tongshu etc.
Maybe some Taoism experts may explain in detail as my knowledge in Taoism is only "private limited".
