I heard over the radio that (according to the China metaphysicist Masters' caluculation), next year is the Year of the Earth Pig. Most Feng Shui book claimed that it sbould be the Fire Pig or some even said it should be the Golden Pig.

What's your view on this? Very very confusing indeed!

Next year is the year of "Dinghai 丁亥". According to "60 Jiazi Nayin 六十甲子納音", the element of "Dinghai" is earth 土.

The element of "Ding 丁" is fire 火 while the symbol of "Hai 亥" is pig 豬, therefore "Dinghai" is simply Fire Pig.

As for Golden Pig, I think it is just a common saying. From TCS Chinese New Year Eve Show, you can see every year also golden snake, golden dog, golden rat etc.
