On the Day after sending off Kitchen and other Household Deities (25th of Lunar 12 Month)

After the send-off day for all household deities, Chinese/Taoists shall prepared to welcome Jade Emperor’s inspection on the 25 of Lunar 12 Month.

In folks’ culture, the folks believed that after the day where Kitchen/other Deities made their reports after returning to the Heaven, Jade Emperor would make an inspection on the 25th day of Lunar 12 Month (some folks will consider this day as another Heavenly Gate Opening Day – Tian Men Kai).

So how shall the folk made their preparations for this day?

Here’s some intro:

1.after sending off all deities, clean-up the home till dust-free

2.prepared some fresh fruits/flowers for making offering on the deities altar

3.make the home as bright as possible after 00.00 hour (12am onwards on 25th Day)

4.never quarrel on this day

5.if members at home can stay up late (best till dawn), please do so

6.after clock hits 00.00 hour, offered incenses on the Tian Gong Urn and household urn on the deities altars -> request blessings

Nowadays, seldom people engaged in this ceremony/event.
