Dear joao_kho,

Such Bao Gao-s are created in the ancient era, almost all of them are in Chinese.

But, eventhough they are created in Chinese, for us who used to chant in dialects can still pronounce the wordings in our own dialects.

Seldom we can find any multimedia products on Taoism Scriptures such as Bao Gao (if yes, most of them are in Chinese, as for dialects, quite impossible).

If you are interested, maybe next time we can organised one session on just dialect chanting.

Hi Javewu,

Just curious to know, because in Indonesia, there are some places using hokkian, teochew (bao gao or mantra ??) for praying or using by Tang Ki. FYI, I'm working Jakarta. Thanks.

Regards,
Joao Kho

Dear joao_kho,

This is common and of cos, an OK.

Mantras, Sutras, Bao Gao can be recite in any form of languages, at the end of the day, we will still get the same results.

But as for the part on Tang Ki using dialects to recite Bao Gao? This is the 1st time i'm coming across this?

Which Deity are you refering to? What form of Bao Gao is that? Are they the invitation mantra or Bao Gao? There certain difference in invitation mantra and Bao Gao. :P

Dear javewu,

I thinks it's Invitation Mantra .. not Bao Gao :D
My homeland at Karimun Island, very near Singapore.
But i think the people there lack of taoism / Confusius knowledge.
Just doing "PAI PAI" at home or temple. When I young, there is many Tang Ki ..., but now is seldom to see Tang Ki demonstration.

Pai Pai, yup, nowadays, ppl only know what is Pai Pai, requesting of wealth and so and do not know what are the correct pratises for taoist, this is indeed a bit sad.

but with all the efforts of those who try their best to promote taoism ard the world, hope that oneday, we can see some changes :P
