Here's a introduction on the traditional kuehs that we offer to the Deities during their birthdays, big celebration or festivals.

Longevity Peach

Made from flour with fillings of Lian Rong, Dou Sha or Bean paste.

This is to represent "long lifes".

Rice cake (Phen Kueh)

Made from rice paste with fillings of rice, peanuts, dry shrimps.

Usually offer to Deities together with the Ang Ku Kuey.

This is to represent "Good lifes".

Red Eggs (Ang Nen)

Made from normal Chicken eggs.

This is to represent Reunion, full and also extending of generations.

Nian Gao (Dhee Kueh)

Made from rice paste with brown or orange sugar.

This is to represent "Promoting" in ranks and also scoring of good grades in examinations.

Mi Gao (Bee Ko)

Made from flour and egg.

Chinese form of "cake" for the Deities.

This is to represent full, round, Reunion, etc.

Fa Gao (Huat Kueh)

Made from flour, brown or orange sugar.

In folk's believe, during the making process, "dirty" people are not allowed to join in. Why? 'Cos making Huat Kueh is a "Bang Dang" process (this is to show respect to the Deities).

This is to represent wealth, earning more money.

Hong Gui Guo (Ang Ku Kueh)

Made from rice with fillings of Lian Rong, Dou Sha, Bean Paste, etc.

This is to represent "long life", Reunion, Good Luck.

Comes in a few colours, Red, Black, Green, Yellow.
