Just visited a temple at Redhill Close whom Pang kong thru " Hu Ki " , this is how they Pang Kong : A diety {Tua Pek Kong} was being strapped to a dragon chair with four bearer carrying it. Once a devotee reveal his or her problem, the dragon chair will sway left to right and then proceed to the table where there is a rectangular tray filled with sand and starts writing the solution to the problem. The Li Si will do the interpretation to the devotee. Could you enlighten towards such practice, Thank You.

This Hu Ki is actually the very initial/old/traditional way of asking Deities questions (before mediumship starts to get popular in folks culture) of getting answers.

Hu Ki is almost the same as inviting Deities into a mortal's body, but instead of entering to a mortal's body, the assistants invite the "Energy" of the Deities onto a media (such a media can be a small sedan, a brush, a stick, etc). Some Hu Ki does need chanting of Mantras but some no need.

In folks culture, people believed that the assistants that hold the media or doing the translation must be chosen by the Deities, but in actual fact, this is not necessary.

In the past, usually only close questions can be asked (answer with a Yes or No), but nowsdays, seem that all sort of questions can be asked during the consultation session.

Hi Bro Reborn

Yeap! Indeed!

This old temple used to be in 'si ka deng' before the 1969 big fire that burnt for almost a week and flatten the whole 'si ka deng'. Amazingly, there are three temples that's 'untouched' by the fire! Zhen Ren Gong is one of them. Guan Di, Beo now at Bt Merah Road is the other. I lost touch with the third.

My family have been praying to Zhen Ren Da Di for generation. My mum told me that in the olden days, Zhen Ren Da Di will yewkeng (parade) round the 'si ka keng' during it's festival (on the 15th day of the lunar 8th month) and amazingly will stop at house that need help! My grandma was one of such beneficary. During their darezi (festival celebration), this temple will issue wooden 'ru yi' for luck and peace.

I highly respect this Deity, not due to my family influence, but have observed it's uniqueness. When you ask a question, the kio (seden) will knock on the table if the answer is 'yes' and will rock sideway is the answer is 'no'. All this while, the sedan carrier didn't even look. During one of my consultation, I was shocked when told not to kept my crystal ball wrapped in a black cloth (for I had packed and forgotten about this crystal when I shift house some time ago)! I secured my present job (million thanks to Zhen Ren Da Di), stayed for more than ten years now...and still going strong and stable!

Ah!...treasured these old good memories.... :P
