Dear bro,

your playing cards is it the poker cards that we used? or some other cards that can be found in the market?

Cos from what i know and in my collections, there are more than a type of cards that we can used to do divination calculating.

Somemore, we can used any materials that you can find around you to be one of the tools for the calculation.

Maybe you can list a few that you wish to know and we can do a introduction on the issues that you looking in :P

Yes, its the normal poker cards.

Ok, let's have some brief ideas of how this poker came about.

Poker card was believed to be invented in the olden days in the european countries, some said roman, some said egypt, doesnt matter, as long as the cards are put into good use after the inventing.

Such Poker cards are invented to use as a tool for asking questions to the Heaven or Gods in their context. (initiately not for gambling and so)

Each set of Poker comes with 54 cards including the red and black Jokers. These 2 jokers represent the Sun (Solar) and the Moon (Lunar).

The remaining 52 cards represent the 52 weeks in a year, 4 shapes or colours to represent the 4 seasons and 13 cards in each colour to represent 13 weeks in every season.

After adding them up, you will get at total of 364 plus 2 Jokers, you will get a great total of 366. And this number is used to represent the total days in a year (365.4days).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, in the past, folks in the western countries believed that such cards or the whole set can be used to give certain blessings to the believers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Slowly, such cards are being imported into the Chinese Countries (when and how, is a mystery).

The Chinese starting to get involved in the Cards for gambling and so. But a certain group of people (who engaged in Divination), decided to invent a few sets of Divination Methods from the cards - and this is how the Cards are used in the folks' Divination today.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What are the few Divination sets?
Usually are:
1 Ba Gua Zheng (The Trigram Formation)
2 Qing Long Zheng (The Green Dragon Formation) - if i'm not wrong, the skill is no longer being practise by the folks.
3 Guo Yun Qiao (Changing Luck Bridge) - many different formations
4 Simple and the easiest way - Jian Shi Dian (Adding to 10 Points)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There are certain Mantras (chanting) involved during the placing of formations, but again, some of the mantras are lost due to "selfishness" by the past folks (didnt want to reveal to ppl)

So, from what i know today, seldom you will see a Divination Master chanted as he place the formation.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So bro TPK and all, hope you all can so how clear your doubts on the Divination Method using Poker Cards.
Thanks Bro Javewu for the information. Just to highlight, my temple diety: Tua Pek Kong during pangong uses Ba Gua formation to divine.
