well ladies and gentlemen I am disapponted that nobody has started a Slayer thread, so it looks like im'a have to come around here more often to keep you rejects in line! :D

So anyway I dont think that I have to say anything except Slayer is fucking amazing ok? G and I saw them saturday in Atlanta and let me tell you...it was the most incredible night EVER! I honestly did not stop smiling the entire time. we had such a great time and afterwards we went back stage and met Tom Araya. He is incredibly nice, he signed a shit load of autographs and took pictures galore. He even went around and took individual pictures of the few lucky fans back there. Not to mention that G, her boyfriend, and I got out tickets & backstage passes from him and his wife. For my first concert I think I made out pretty swell :D :D :D :D

any of you other fans got some awesome Slayer stories??

Sorry, absolutely no Slayer stories to tell outside of regularly hair whipping & moshing in place to Slayer's ultrafast version of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida w/ my friend Laura whenever one of us would play it during our radio shows back in university.

Wow Kari, that's awesome! Definitely sounds like a first concert you'll never forget.

I have only ever seen Slayer once, and I definitely didn't manage to get backstage lol They came to Winnipeg on their Unholy Alliance tour last year with Thine Eyes Bleed, Mastodon, Children of Bodom, and Lamb of God... six hours of metal goodness! You can bet I soaked up every note. That was easily one of the best concerts I've ever gone to.

I am actually going to be seeing Slayer again very soon though (no backstage this time either, but what the hell--lol) thanks to Sin's mentioning the tour and my parents giving me tix as a grad gift. August 14th, Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota... Slayer and Marilyn Manson co-headlining! I'm all types of psyched... never seen Manson live before, and I'm still trying to get my head around the sort of crowd that will result from that band pairing. It's gonna kick much ass though, I'm sure.

man I wish I could have seen Manson but he went on after Slayer. I could still hear the music tho & it sounded pretty damn good. G didnt want to watch manson (freakin party pooper) so I didnt get to either. But I will take being back stage w/ Slayer to being another face in the crowd to Manson any day :D

actually it wasnt as bad as you would think lol but all the little goths were down in the pit & there wasnt shit goin on in that department. I was hoping to see some of the little mansonites get their asses kicked but no dice. But let me tell you this much I saw some of the biggest freaks ever! lol G and I were crackin up at all the little gawfs. there was one dude I kept seeing & every time I thought about that quote from Grandmas Boy, "So how much do clothes cost in the Matrix?" lol head to toe leather in nearly 100 degree heat?! I bet he regretted that decision :D:D:D
