FC BATE Borisov is a Belarussian football team, playing in the city of Borisov.
A little History of the team:
The club was founded in 1973 and re-established in 1996. Since 1996 FC BATE have won three national championships and competed in UEFA competitions against the likes of AC Milan, Bologna and 1860 Munich.
Notbale players like Alexander Hleb (VfB Stuttgart, Arsenal, F.C. Barcelona), Vitali Kutuzov (AC Milan, Sporting, Avellino, Sampdoria, Parma, Pisa) and Yuri Zhevnov (FC Moscow) all started their professional careers with FC BATE and are members of the Belarus national team.
Artem Radkov and Gennadi Bliznyuk from the current squad also play for the national team.
In 2008 FC BATE became the first Belarusian football team to make it through to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Ah, the Zenit-Real game was such a heartbreaker! :(
It reminded me of the Espanyol-Barca game from this weekend....Zenit had so many opportunities at a goal, but the damn ball would not go in the net! <_<
