Ronaldinho is still dreaming of a move to AC Milan despite this summer’s protracted transfer saga, according to his Selecao team-mate Kaká.
Ronaldinho’s current club Barcelona have confirmed that the Brazilian, along with Samuel Eto’o and Deco, are free to leave the club as they re-build the squad following yet another trophy-less season.
But despite new Head Coach Pep Guardiola telling the players they can leave, the negotiations between Milan and Barca have not been revived, reportedly due to the Ł20 million price tag that the Spanish giants have put on Ronaldinho’s head.
However Kaká, who revealed that he is pleased about Ronaldinho’s Olympic involvement, has revealed that his international colleague is still dreaming of a San Siro move.
“I am pleased Ronaldinho has been called up for the Olympics, as he is going through a very difficult time,” Kaká explained to Football Italia.
“Barcelona have frozen him out. It seems tough right now to see him moving to Milan, as there was talk of it for so long and it was all ready to be completed when someone put the brakes on.
“Ronaldinho has not changed his mind and still dreams of joining Milan. And I can confirm the club is still thinking of him.”
In recent weeks it seems that the Rossoneri have changed their primary target to Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor and indeed will be required to battle with Barca over a Ł22.5 million transfer.
According to reports Milan are considering using that issue as leverage to force Barca into lowering Ronaldinho’s price, which would result in them stepping out of the way, clearing the Togo striker’s move to La Liga.
Kaká himself wanted to be at the Beijing Olympics this summer alongside Ronaldinho, but was not given the go-ahead after injury problems interrupted his off-season after undergoing knee surgery in May.
“My situation is different to Ronaldinho’s, as he is no longer really a Barcelona player, while I belong to Milan and they have the right to decide.
“I asked the club if I could go to the Games, but it doesn’t depend on me. I did what I could and now it is up to the Brazilian Federation to make another request.
“As for my knee, it is absolutely fine. I am undergoing physiotherapy, my body is reacting well and I’ll be ready in about two weeks.”
I would really love to see Adebayor at Milan...
Oh poor Dinho!
he needs a new home, as much as i love him at barca...he needs change.
