Title: Kaka Fears Same Fate As Eduardo

melike - March 8, 2008 12:05 PM (GMT)
AC Milan superstar Kaka has once again pleaded for referees to clamp down harder on opponents who only seem interested in kicking him off the field.

The Brazilian superstar Kaka has been suffering from a chronic knee injury for much fo the campaign, which has been exasperated by the huge number of fouls that he has suffered at the hands of over zealous defenders all season.
25-year-old admitted that he constantly worries about suffering the same type of potentially career-ending injury as Gunners striker Eduardo did recently.

"We need to change this situation where talented players are getting kicked all the time. I am tired of being booted in Italy, for example," lamented Kaka.

"It's up to the referees to protect players who want to play football and I hope this happens sooner rather than later now we've seen a terrible injury like this [Eduardo's leg break].

"I was saddened by what happened to Eduardo and I wish him the quickest possible recovery."

I think it's every player's fear same fate as Eduardo's. Nobody want to finish their carreer in so awful way. Luckly, Dudu will play again!
Hope the things will change and the injuries like this won't be possible anymore!

i cant be even thinking of something like Eduardo happenning to kaka :(

the refrees should really pay attention to security of special players coz it means a carrier to them n possibly their national team n club too .i dont believe eduardo will achive the type of form he was in after he recovers .it is a serious matter n should be paid the attention needed. <_<

This is why I no longer aspire to become a professional footballer. This sport is riddled with defenders who just don't care what happens to you. And unfortunately, very few seem to take this seriously, or even care for that matter. This sort of thing completely ruins this sport.

Sadly, I don't see what referees can do. Yellow cards are worthless; a player misses one or two games at most, and the same goes for red cards. They'll just get right back into it. What everyone must understand is that some players don't deserve to play this sport.

If I could, I'd make diving tackles illegal. The potential for injury is just too great to allow something so rambunctious. Besides, it would make things a lot less condensed on the field, which would allow more goals. That's what everyone wants, isn't it? To see players perform well and score goals.

I forgot what game it was, but an imbecile defender broke his leg with a malicious diving tackle. You could see his leg completely broken. If it were up to me, I would've permanently banned that defender.

EDIT: Here's the video. (It's horrific. Don't watch if you can't handle this stuff.)
