TEAM NEWS

Milan are still missing Ronaldo and Paolo Maldini, both players yet to feature this season, as well as the long term injury of Serginho. Also, a shoulder injury will keep goalkeeper Dida out of this match. Nevertheless, a near full-strength squad will be put out on the field, as the pressure continues to mount on Milan for a win.

Catania have injury concerns, too, as Gianluca Falsini and Ezequiel Llama are both out, but Giuseppe Colucci appears to have returned to fitness. Additionally, David Biaocco and Giacomo Tedesco will both be serving suspensions and cannot take part in this match.

The same goes for their manager, Silvio Baldini, for the touchline ban he received in the now-famous kicking incident on matchday one involving his counterpart, Parma boss Mimmo Di Carlo.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Alberto Gilardino (Milan) – Was very good in the midweek loss to Palermo, and came close to scoring on several occasions. He will again be booed by the Milan faithful, but his play has improved lately, and he should finally get on the scoresheet against the Catania defense.

Gionatha Spinesi (Catania) – One of the surprise revelations of last season, he has yet to break his duck this campaign. Catania are not great at home, but closely challenged many of the supposed top sides last season, and a goal by Spinesi would go a long way toward doing so in this match.
