Serie A Preview: Milan - Catania
What: Italian Serie A
Who: AC Milan (6 pts., 9th) vs. Catania (5 pts., 13th)
When: Sunday September 30, 15:00 (CET)
Where: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza San Siro, Milan
TEAM NEWS
Milan are still missing Ronaldo and Paolo Maldini, both players yet to feature this season, as well as the long term injury of Serginho. Also, a shoulder injury will keep goalkeeper Dida out of this match. Nevertheless, a near full-strength squad will be put out on the field, as the pressure continues to mount on Milan for a win.
Catania have injury concerns, too, as Gianluca Falsini and Ezequiel Llama are both out, but Giuseppe Colucci appears to have returned to fitness. Additionally, David Biaocco and Giacomo Tedesco will both be serving suspensions and cannot take part in this match.
The same goes for their manager, Silvio Baldini, for the touchline ban he received in the now-famous kicking incident on matchday one involving his counterpart, Parma boss Mimmo Di Carlo.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Alberto Gilardino (Milan) Was very good in the midweek loss to Palermo, and came close to scoring on several occasions. He will again be booed by the Milan faithful, but his play has improved lately, and he should finally get on the scoresheet against the Catania defense.
Gionatha Spinesi (Catania) One of the surprise revelations of last season, he has yet to break his duck this campaign. Catania are not great at home, but closely challenged many of the supposed top sides last season, and a goal by Spinesi would go a long way toward doing so in this match.
POSSIBLE STARTING XIs
Milan (4-3-2-1): Kalac; Oddo, Nesta, Kaladze, Jankulovski; Gattuso, Pirlo, Emerson; Kaką, Seedorf; Gilardino
Catania (4-3-3): Polito; Silvestri, Terlizzi, Stovini, Sabato; Izco, Edusei, Vargas; Martinez, Mascara, Spinesi
PREDICTION
Milan must get the full three points in this match, as criticism is now coming from all angles. Catania will look to do better than their last visit to Milan, which was a loss to Inter. All in all, one would have to believe that Milan will not let this opportunity slip away.
Milan 2-0 Catania

Anja - September 30, 2007 02:27 PM (GMT)
66' Martinez, the goalscorer, has come off to be replaced by Sabato, a defender. He will slot in at left back and Vargas moves up into midfield.
Ha!!! They are starting to defend themselves!!! Milan is gonna win!!!! I'm sure of it!!! :goooo: :goooo:
Anja - September 30, 2007 02:35 PM (GMT)
70'Vargas sprints down the left and manages to keep the ball in play by the touchline. His cross is headed away but drops for MASCARA... who volleys into row Z.
Anja - September 30, 2007 02:40 PM (GMT)
79'Catania are giving away too many cheap free kicks in this half, the latest for a foul on Gilardino. Pirlo curls it in but it's straight at Polito.
C'mon guys!!!! We're running out of time!!!! :o
miss hajar 22 - September 30, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
i think that we will tie again :( :(
Anja - September 30, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
81'Pirlo loses the ball in midfield and produces a cynical challenge in a show of petulance. He deserved the booking.
85'Pirlo tries a pot shot form distance but Polito watches it go wide. A very below par performance from Andrea Pirlo today..
87'Inzaghi goes to ground with a kick and a flourish, and gets booked for simulation. The fizz has really gone out of this game now.
things are not good... <_< :cry3:
miss hajar 22 - September 30, 2007 02:50 PM (GMT)
gosh :warrior: ..now 4 of milan's players got a yellow card :noooo:  ..kaladze,kaka,Pirlo and Inzaghi :bearcry: :bearcry:

A draw again :cry3: :cry3: :cry3:
we have such a BIG problems now :( What happends to them ?
p.s : why did Kaka get a yellowcard ??? hope that there was no fighting again <_<
Anja - September 30, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
89'Carlo Ancelotti is screaming at his players from the touchline! He's frustrated that the team aren't going hell for leather for the win. Credit to Catania though, they have closed up nicely in the last 15 minutes or so, reducing Milan mainly to shots from distance.
90'Four minutes of injury time are signalled, mainly due to Polito's injury.
90+4Gattuso squares up to Biagianti after an ariel clash with him, but all he's doing is wasting precious seconds for his team.
It's probably gonna be a draw again!!!!
miss hajar 22 - September 30, 2007 02:56 PM (GMT)
finished  a draw again
ac mialn 1-1 catania
Anja - September 30, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
F***!!!!!!!!!!!!!
90+4It's all over! A big disappointment for Milan, but Catania can return to Sicily with their heads held high after a good mix of staunch defending and good counter-attacking earned them a point.
What's the matter with our guys?????!!!! :yikes:  :himm:
