| Fabio Capello does not see Real Madrid as one of the favourites to challenge for the Champions League, but has named their arch rivals Barcelona as a strong contender. The Italian coach was sacked by the Bernabéu giants at the end of last season and he believes that the summer of rebuilding means that Madrid may not be settled. Along with Barça, Capello believes Chelsea are in with a shout of clinching the trophy, while he also picked out two Italian giants. "Milan, Inter, Barcelona and Chelsea have the best teams and have all the advantages needed to win this competition," he explained. Capello opted to pick the traditional favourite players that he expects to shine in the competition this term. "Kaká, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Leo Messi will be determining players," he explained. Explaining his reasons behind his exclusion of Madrid from his favourites list, Capello did insist that he would still want to watch them.. "They are a team with a lot of new players and it will be interesting to see them in the Champions League," he continued. "(Ruud) Van Nistelrooy is a great forward, while the addition of Sneijder will also be interesting. "It is a very even group and Lazio will be worth watching, while Olympiacos are always dangerous. I do not think Werder Bremen look as strong as in recent years." |
