Wesley Sneijder's hit a purple patch of late, and the ex-Ajax midfielder has put his good form down to his Real Madrid switch. After impressing for the capital club, he rocketed home a thirty-five yard free kick to put the Netherlands ahead against Bulgaria. The midfielder reflects on what's been a great spell of form for him...

Wesley Sneijder admits that he feels rejuvenated since moving from Ajax to Real Madrid.

The creative midfielder said, "I'm in a great spell at the moment, that's true.

"Ever since I've joined Madrid, everything has gone my way. Hopefully my good form will continue and on Wednesday I can play another great match [for the Netherlands] against Albania."

Sneijder moved from Ajax to Madrid for 27 million euros this summer and seemingly has already established himself as an indispensable part of the first team.

Nonetheless, he holds a special place in his heart for Amsterdam, where he scored for Holland against Bulgaria in Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifying victory.

"It's wonderful to play in this place. Whenever I return, I feel something special.

"The fans treat me very well, they give me all their affection, so I try to return that with all my effort on the pitch.

"I just do what I always did - give one hundred percent in every game," he said.

Next, he described his rocket of a free kick that put Holland en route to victory - dedicating it to the unlikeliest of sources.

"I did it for Andre Ooijer (of Blackburn), who had said that morning that I was going to score a free kick.

"We'd worked out a celebration in case that happened, but I was so excited when it went in that I just ran and embraced him," he admitted.

Sneijder has 38 caps for the Netherlands.

Everyone knows here that I'm not a Real Madrid fan (lol) but good luck to him! I do like Sneijder!
