The question is, how did you get into this band??
Truth be told, I was browsing thru CD's in a music store and stumbled upon Broke back in 2000. That's all it took - I was hooked!!! Been a fan ever since!!
How about you? Was it a show? A CD you found? A track you heard? A friend who introduced you to their music? I've always wondered how other people found them....
lax3b - January 13, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
I'm sure I've heard them before this, but i download there, Darky because it had an interesting name, (hed) p.e. - Darky, it stood out. I liked it so i furthered my search and heard more songs on there myspace. I've been listening to them every day for about 2 years now.
KirbyTheAlmighty - January 13, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
I thought parenthesis looked bad ass.
Seriously.
That's why I checked them out.
MadMadMan565 - January 13, 2008 11:58 PM (GMT)
i remember hearing their name on a satellite radio channel
they had just played one of their songs (i didnt actually hear the song)
and then they asked callers to call in to tell the host what they thought of the 'new hed pe song'
and i remember callers calling in and saying the song was really bad
and it wasn't like other hed pe songs
i dont know what song it was though
but for some odd reason i still decided to download some of their music
thank fuck i did! Voices was all it took to get me hooked
avikid86 - January 14, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
I was big time into KoRn and Limp Bizkit at the time, and my older bro gave me their S/T and told me to check em out, said it good music to draw to, and i've been bumping to them ever since!
DJ_Hex - January 14, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)

It has been discussed several times before, but those topics are so old that they are virtually unfindable, so don't worry about it. :)
So here's how I discovered (hed) Planet Earth...
Chicago used to have this fucking awesome radio station called 94.7 The Zone....had to have been the best non-satellite station ever. They played everything from Nickelback to Sevendust to Slayer. They actually introduced me to some of my favorite bands like The Haunted and Dry Kill Logic. But back to the story. It was back in early 2003, right after Blackout was released, I guess. When I woke up in the morning before school, I used to listen to the morning show on it. They were discussing music news, and the last news of the morning was that (hed) p.e. had broken up. One of the other DJ's was apparently a huge (hed) fan and was pretty upset about it, haha. I had never heard their music at the time, but I had heard the name several times before. So later on, I decided to download a song of theirs, Boom (How You Like That). I loved it. I burned it to a CD along with a bunch of other random songs and listened to it constantly. A couple weeks later, I went to a shop got a used copy of Blackout. I thought it was alright, but it grew on me a lot after awhile. Then I bought Broke after my birthday, and that's when I really fell in love with them.
I also got my best friend to like them after awhile too. He hated them at first, but I always made him listen to Broke and Blackout when he was at my house. Eventually he became as big a fan as I. And he's introduced (hed) to countless other people. Their fanbase has spread quite a bit out here, and it's all thanks to me.

i was searching for miscellaneous SOAD tracks and found feel good. hooked ever since.
tray_cee - January 14, 2008 05:34 AM (GMT)
this has been discussed but ah who cares!
i first heard hed last year when i was just browsing the web and searching for music, i heard the song 'lets ride' and i loved it! i did the same thing as shakezulah, downloaded songs onto CD's. i started reading stuff about them & googling them.. i liked them alot. but when i saw them live, man it was all over, i think thats when i trully fell in love with hed pe hahah! the energy, their 'fuck you!' attitude, the way they are so in touch with their spiritual side, their knowledge of 911, nwo, freemasonry, illuminati... etc. the list goes on! i juss relate to all that and i love em! after i saw them live i think is when i started buying a bunch of their CD's and whatever i could get my little hands on!
thats how i became the hed lover that i am today :P

Pac Bell is an amazing track, by far one of my favorites.
I got into hed just by seeing stickers all over town. It seemed like every tn minutes I would see a hed pe sticker! So I looked them up; they had just come out with :hedpe self-titled: and one of my buddies had COR. After listening to those two records I was hooked!

To make a long story short.
Four years ago. My friend hooked me up with some (hed)pe on the now defunct P2P network, WinMX. Thats how it started. The rest as they say, is history.

1996 I was a freshman in h.s. My friend and I wanted to play in a band.KORN and RATM were just hittin' it then.We knew this preppy Jewish girl who could play drums. We went to her house and jammed in her basement. She asked if we knew any hed songs.I had no idea who they were.I took the advice and bought there self-titled.Been down ever since.I've seen em here in memphis about 5 times since :hedpe self-titled:
noyb - January 14, 2008 09:26 AM (GMT)
i heard of hed like 1 and a half year ago or maybe even just 1 year!... so I'm still kinda new to it...
but no wonder that I'm new.. nobody knows hed here!!
anyways I found a website where you could enter a band name and it showed you some other bands which are similar to them... so I just entered some bands like KoRn, Slipknot, SOAD, RATM and when I entered Limp Bizkit, I saw this name (HED) P.E. and then I got curious and dled an Album .. I think it was OIA.. and I was like... "WTF! that sounds great".. so I told my bro.. and he goes like "yeah dude.. I know this band... I was at a concert in zurich ..my friend has all of their albums.." and I was like.. "argh!.... why didn't you tell me earlier??"
yeah well then i got the other albums :D
my bro introduced me to lots of sounds... but never to hed :( he even showed me SOAD..

Ferle - January 15, 2008 04:40 PM (GMT)
My brother started downloading bicycle freeride movies almost 3 years ago and after that he downloaded the New World Dissorder 4 soundtrack with the song Get Away on it. I loved it bud didn't go searching for other songs.
Then my brother in august got the discography and showed me Insomnia and said that most of the songs are just a mix of different genres. I stole his whole collection and I ain't gonna return it anytime soon.
(hed) - April 5, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)

I'm huge fan of Rage Against the Machine and I was looking for some good rapcore bands. I remembered hearing the name (hed) PE somewhere so I decided to download their :hedpe self-titled: to found if they're any good. I became a fan after 3 first songs. "Serpent Boy" nailed me.
Broke2012 - April 13, 2008 02:15 PM (GMT)
saw Blackout on TV when i was like 12 or something or 11, digt it... forgot the name of the band... heard some OIA songs... forgot about dem... B2BX listened that for 2 solid months... bought every album :P
kennk - April 13, 2008 02:36 PM (GMT)
well i was into limp bizkit back in the day and i read something, i think it was like in 2002, i read this shit where jah was talking shit about them and the article said the bands had a similiar sound... he was comparing 'nookie' to 'bartender'
so i downloaded 'bartender' and it blew lb out of the water
bought broke, loved it. downloaded some other songs
so i've been a fan since before blackout
but (hed) didn't mean what they do to me now 'til 2005ish
played OIA while i was fuckin'
and the girl said it was the sickest style she ever heard
we started playing them for all our friends
now there's like a (hed) army in my state, haha.
at this point i have [well, i've purchased, i don't have like any of them anymore] all their cds at least once, except for insomnia... i just barely got to look at the insomnia booklet like a week or two ago, lol.
the end.

Got home and listened to it and i only like Suck it up. then the more i listened to it, the more i liked it. I also recently bought Insomnia which i think is good. Insomnia was the only (hed) p.e. cd they had apart from the greatest hits so yea. So far i have Blackout and Insomnia and theyre my favourite band

In that case go buy Broke(:broke:) and then their Self-titled (:hedpe self-titled:) . If they are your favorite band now, adding those to albums to your collection will make you a worshiper.

I'll take a stab at it...
It was a long way back but, I was at a local music store and about once a month I'll buy a cd and every 6 months I buy a cd of a band I never heard of before and try to pick em by the cover. As I moved down the line I ran across (self-titled) and for obvious reasons I picked it up and carried it with me and decided this cover was the most intriguing so I bought it. I think I listened to it about three times and never really sat down and listened to them. Soon enough it was buried under a pile of other cd's, not to be seen for about a year. (hed) fell to the side for a bit, I then found it underneath my dresser. So I popped it in and opened up the booklet, pressed play and ever since 1999 I've been a huge fan and love watching them evolve as time goes by.
I've purchased that cd 4 times due to wear and tear since then.
Yes I do burn some cd's but I had to have the original for (hed)

I only heard about them a year and a half ago. Was sitting at a buddy's place, and he was getting ready to go to their concert with another friend. They wanted me to go but I had never heard of them and really wasn't interested in going. So he played a song off their myspace, which was, at the time, Raise Hell. Still didn't really care...
Then, one day, maybe a month later, I'm sitting at my place just surfin around myspace, when I came across a different friend's profile who had Let's Ride as her song on there. Since the day I heard that song, I was hooked! I downloaded about 6 songs, then went and bought a couple of their cd's... and it's been going from there ever since.
