First off, Hello guys!!

Im a new member from the UK, been a HED fan for a mighty few years now back when Broke was released. Quickly snapped up the self titled album and then when Blackout came out, the enthusiasm died. Anyway, its been back now for a good year or so, so signed up to say hello to all you other HED fans. :D


Anywho, the point of my topic........


90% of the reason I signed up to a HED forum was because I was after some rare tracks, bootlegs and mainly footage for my viewing/listening pleasure. This forum seemed to be going well and seemed pretty decent, BUT, wtf is up with your media content?!? After about a week of trawling through threads and posts, Ive still not really found what Im looking for. Files will be missing from the servers, corrupt or hosted on Rapidshare or some other weak ass site.

So I gots thinking, maybe it would be a good idea to get all the "GOOD" links up in one thread for a quick resource?? Also making them in Torrent format would make them alot more download friendly.


These are my thoughts anyway, and would like to hear your opinions and reasons why or why not. I personally would host Torrents as much as physically possible and would even send discs out to you good folk if you couldnt get the stuff yourselves. Thats what Forums are all about IMO, helping a brother out ;)

ok first and foremost , if you have been here over a year now and browsed the forum inside out you must know we have a feedback forum.

second : the reason the media is all scattered is because of this,
people posting stuff in the wrong sections over and over again.

I know it's a hell to browse through a shitload off posts for getting some cool unreleased stuff, but trust me HTID is figuring out a way to insert a media section.

granted - the hedpe chat is a mess b/c off all the floating double posts and unrelevant posts but we're working on it!

as for the helping out , this forum is dedicated to the band , but not to index torrents , there's plenty of sites out there , and I think I can speak for the whole team and say it will be a no-go.

as for linking the unreleased stuff I get your point , but for now it wouldn't make sense,
in that way alot of non members would get there hands on some unreleased stuff we've been busting our asses off to find and get.
it's like stink palming , it's lame.

so my advice is , just sit tight and open your eyes,
there's about a kazillion threads requesting sundown/dracula or whatever track, which seem to work fine.

btw if you can't spare the dough to get a rapidshit account don't blame it on us

WEDGED: Ive only been on here a week or so, have a look at my stats on the left there ;) I posted in the HED section, as thats where the media "supposedly" is, so was relevant. Obviously I was wrong, sorry.

Ive had quite a look through but generally Im found with badlinks that are corrupt or missing. Also your Search bar doesnt seem to work?!?

As for the Torrents subject, I meant Torrents of unreleased footage etc. Not Torrents of the albums. Things like the recordings of gigs put in a torrent to share, rather than using unreliable third party resources.

Agreed on the nonmembers freeloading, but surely you can just set the forum to "protected" so you can only view the topics if you are a member?!

And finally its not that I "cant afford" a Rapidshare account. I simply refuse to pay for a bad service when there is a million ways of doing it better for free.

Seeing as we don't have a real media section, nothing is ever organized. Hopefully we will eventually get one. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a lot of unreleased stuff around here, as there are enough multiple threads on each. But Rapidshare files seem to expire rather quickly, so I wouldn't rely on those.

haha yeah we know , we disabled it some time ago since invision has a shitty search app for the forums , it was no good
like for instance you searched for 'jahred' (and trust me theres loads of posts with that in it) and you get zero results or something totally different..

so that's why bro.

I get your point , then again I think our admin doesn't want to see this forum containing shitloads of them
and between the lines , we had B2BX and insomnia a month before release, hosting it on 'unreliable third party resources' will not leak a pre release further , torrents will. I personally don't mind bootlegs , live footage floating around on the net with our label on it,
but I can imagine the admin , the band being pretty pissed when the new cd leaks on torrents b/c of us.

what made you join this forum on the first place?
you browsed around for some info and later on decided that you wanted to join us.
that's why the forum is open to non members , we want to get as many fans as possible over here.

Thats pretty shady man, im on another forum that runs Invision and theirs works fine. Must have a bug or something there or are you using an older version of Invision?

Yeah I suppose I can see your point there, after all, we are here to support the band, not leak their shit. The only way that could be governed would be by strict moderating which could be a ball ache for you guys, but then again, if there was a media section, that woulnt be an issue as proper releases could be stopped from being posted and that section could be members only.

I'm not trying to rat your forums or anything, was just throwing some ideas out there that could make this place a little easier. if you need help getting that media section up though, drop me a PM I might be able to help. Ive worked on a few forums before ;)
