Seen Soulfly 3 times, would gladly pay to see them again. Awesome shows, and they always manage to throw in a good amount of Sepultura material.
SPANinc - March 3, 2006 01:06 PM (GMT)
Lucky fuckers! I love Soulfy too, but they've only been to Australia once. I saw them at the Big Day Out just after their first album. They played in the middle of the day (no respect from the organisers!) and it was the biggest, maddest, best crowd all day.
Shakezulah - March 3, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
How was the show Serb?
Lol, stupid question. It obviously fucking ROCKED. headbanger

SHaGGGz - June 5, 2006 03:13 AM (GMT)
ive heard some of soulflys shit, but never really got into them. where do u guys suggest i start, what is their heaviest/best album?
Shakezulah - June 5, 2006 03:19 AM (GMT)
Their latest album, Dark Ages is easily their best work to date. Their second album, Primitive, is their second best, right along witht heir first, self-titles, album. 3 is also a really good album. Prophecy is okay, not as good as the others though. I would suggest starting from the beginning. Save the best for last that way.

dark ages is never their best album dude....primitve is way better and had better sales...
@SHaGGz
I would suggest start of with primitive and their song "Jumpdafuckup" (this will give u a gd start if u like hed and shit).
then go over "back to the primitive" to "the prophet".
Awesome headbanger
then u should get into their new shit...dark ages ("Fuel The Hate" & "babylon just rock the fuckin house).
also check out their instrumental ambient tracks "Soulfly IIV","Soulfly IV" and "Soulfly V", etc.
peace,
Waiting-To-Die
Shakezulah - June 6, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Primitive was my fav album by them. Jumpdafuckup was what got me into them in the first place, but Dark Ages is just better in almost every way. Their talent shines through in this album more than in any of the others. It's the closest thing to Sepultura since their self-titled. Not saying that it has to sound like that to be good, because it still has the signature Soulfly sound, but it's just heavier than anything the band has done before, and a lot of people, including me, were happier with it because of how Sepultura-ish it was. Primitive may have sold more, but it still comes in close second. High sales isn't what makes a good album.
Waiting-To-Die - June 6, 2006 09:36 PM (GMT)
I know, dont get me wrong, I love Dark Ages ...but u know for me (coz I got primitive first I spose) it is just the best album. I agree DA is their heaviest album - and I like that fact, however I never really liked Sepultura...(presumably coz some fat bastard with a sweaty sepultura shirt once fell on me on a Soulfly concert ^^ but hey...
in the end the most important thing is Soulfly rock - btw hav you heard Max Cavaleras new single with Apocalyptica and Matt Tuck (from Bullet For My Valentine)?
its not one of the best songs eva (as u could might expect with that line-up) but its definitley a cool track.
KevO - June 9, 2006 10:47 AM (GMT)
Primitive is their masterpiece. No doubt.
Brilliant collaborations on this record.
Soulfly Max is the king!

he was excelent in serbia and very friendly!
Shakezulah - September 29, 2006 03:35 AM (GMT)
I finally got to see Soulfly on Monday. Holy fucking shit! They kicked some serious ass. One of the best and most energetic live bands I've ever seen. Marc Rizzo is such an amazing guitarist. He did tons of insane guiatr solos. Then there was a four-man drum solo which was very entertaining. Loved the show!

Shakezulah - May 15, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
The clip of Inflikted I heard was pretty generic. I mean, it's just a demo and I'm sure the final album will come out sounding fucking brutal, but still....
