Title: Media section
Description: maybe...?

Shakezulah - January 25, 2006 05:25 AM (GMT)
I would like to suggest that we have a media section with live and unreleased/rare tracks. If anyone can find links to audio tracks of live shows and such, it would be cool to turn them into an entire media section. headbanger

SRD420 - January 25, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
Word to that homie. Just the unreleased and rare tracks though...

Shakezulah - January 25, 2006 10:07 PM (GMT)
What's wrong with live stuff? With a live act as great as (hed) it'd be great to hear some more live stuff from them.

Planet Earth - January 25, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah the live stuff would be awesome. I have a video clip of (Hed) PE doing "waiting to die" live

Aint nothin' wrong w/ that as long as we aint cheatin' the artists outta the sales they deserve... that's all I was gettin' at.

HED TILL I DIE - January 31, 2006 07:46 PM (GMT)
I agree with SRD40.I dont think this section will happen because of piracy, but (hed) fans can post list of what (hed) albums, songs, videos etc they have in topic in hed pe chat

we will wait and see what happens, most(hed) fans on forum should have gotten my pm on this subject

Shakezulah - February 3, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
It wouldn't be piracy because there is no other way of obtaining the (live/rare) tracks through purchase...either that or it is near impossible. Shallowbay.com, Breaking Benjamin's underground forum, has a huge media section with live/rare tracks, live concert footage, interviews, etc. and the site is fully supported by the band.

True, but how do you know Hed aint got plans on making an album later on in the future with live/rare tracks... you know closer to their retirement days? Wouldn't it be dope if they repressed Church of Realities? Shit... it could happen... ya never know.

HED TILL I DIE - April 7, 2006 06:43 PM (GMT)
I'm thinking of starting to work on creating a media section, but I might make it just video not audio,as I do not know legal status and issues on this subject and dont not want to cheat (hed).

i see that point.
BUT it would be great anyway to put the unreleased tracks online. Its so damn hard to find em'!

by the way, hedrocks.com had kinda "discography" where all the songs were on! But only snippets :( They got their reasons...

Waiting-To-Die - May 12, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
then they should release an official B-Sides&Rarities album :/

I would buy it :)

EDIT::

Oh, take a look in the hed pe chat section :D

Everything depends on if the material we share is copyrighted, I doesn't matter if it's live of demo when it isn't copyrigted...
Look at soadfans.com forums!

Live videos, audios and demos(demos, not unreleased songs!) can be shared there

But anything that was on any record(even import versions and so on) is forbidden

For example:
System of a Down or Steal this Album! recording sessions demos can be shared, they are not copyrighted and they weren't on any official record.
But song like Storaged and Marmalade were released on japanese import of SOAD record so they can't be shared(so do Johny and Metro which were put on singles)

Non-copyrighted live videos are shared, but for example videos from Pledge of Allegiance were on (French I think...) special version of Toxicity record and they are copyrighed, so do document from Hypnotize dual disc so they can't be shared

I hope this will help you, cause I really want the media section with demos and live stuff!

I used to think this was true^^

But it's actually not.

The law takes this view:

All music and recordings of music are copyrighted and also subject to protections of 'related rights' as of the date they are created, and for at least 50 years afterwards (up to 120 years in some countries). In Europe, for example, authors and music publishers retain copyright for 70 years after the death of the author. You may find a copyright or other notice indicating that the music is protected (e.g. © (P) 2003, Acme Records Ltd. All rights reserved), but these are not necessary. Protection is automatic.

This means that as soon as music is created by an artist in any form, they automatically own the copyright on it.

Recording or broadcasting your own live videos of a band is essentially an infringement of copyright unless you have permission from the artist.

You are probably right
...but
Soadfans.com is very big forum and I think they'd have problems with law by sharing official records and so on...
but they follow the principes I wrote and they have no problems...
I think when this forum would follow them too it will have no problems

Onan - May 14, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)
you'd have problems if you uploaded these files on your own server

until we will post them on rapidshare, megaupload etc we probably won't have any problems (in my opinion and knowledge) ;)

Waiting-To-Die - May 14, 2006 03:37 PM (GMT)
well but if jahred & co wouldnt like us to upload the stuff, they could easily stop us .... by the way is any1 of the members registered here?

SmokeDogg - June 30, 2006 08:54 PM (GMT)
I don't see the problem with posting live shit audio or video.I mean shit shit if you can't get em on a Hed Pe site then where the fuck do you go.The whole church of realities album was posted for download,so what the problem. It could also help promote them(which is something that they need to keep this shit going).

actually thats not 100% true.. I thought like metabolic live stuff was also copyrighted because the artist created BUT if u film it or take pictures its not under their © because you "add value" to it..becomes ur creation.

so that means ur videos can be shared but not official live videos (from like live DVDs which 'add value' (editing etc) to it.
