AVENGED SEVENFOLD SINGER ON NEXT ALBUMAVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Synyster Gates and frontman M. Shadows have told MTV.com that the band is hitting the U.K. in October with openers BLEEDING THROUGH, "and then we'll be back in the States to hit all of the small cities that never get shows," Shadows said. "It will be throughout the country, but it's going to be very scattered. Like, there won't be New York or Los Angeles stops."
Shadows said that KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and BLEEDING THROUGH will provide support on that run, which should commence sometime in November.
As soon as 2006 is in the bag, Shadows said AVENGED SEVENFOLD will go into writing mode, with plans to record the follow-up to "City of Evil" — which has sold close to 673,000 copies since it was released in June 2005 — in early 2007. Gates added that the rockers haven't been tinkering with fresh tunes just yet — they've got riffs here and there that they've been collecting, but they've been putting a lot of thought into what they'd like to do on their next LP.
"There are different philosophies running through our heads about how to approach the next album and what we want to do differently," Shadows said. "We're a constantly evolving band, so we just want to do different sh-- each time."
"We've worked on it a little bit, but we're going to keep our mouths shut about it until it comes out," Shadows added. "We want our fans to be surprised. I think when you build something up too much they get all these preconceived notions of how the record should sound. All I can say is, it's going to be a different sound for us — something no one's heard before and no one expects. We'll just leave it at that."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD CANCEL U.K. TOUR
According to ClickMusic.com and Rock-Sound.net, AVENGED SEVENFOLD has cancelled its previously announced U.K. tour with BLEEDING THROUGH.
The band, who will now appear at a one-off show at London's Astoria on September 27, has released the following statement regarding the cancellation:
"Things have been insane for us lately and with 'City of Evil' exploding Stateside, our commitments here in the U.S. have made it impossible for us to head overseas right now. (The Astoria show) will be the world premier of our brand new, headlining stage show that's going to absolutely blow you away. This is the same show we're bringing to the States, but we're gonna debut it for you guys in London."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD began a three-week North American tour on September 7 in Anchorage, Alaska, finishing up in Quebec City, Canada on September 21.
The band will do one more round of U.S. shows beginning in November, before hitting the studio in 2007 for its new album. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and BLEEDING THROUGH will be the opening acts.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows recently told MTV.com that the follow-up to 2005's "City of Evil" will surprise fans. He hinted, "All I can say is, it's going to be a different sound for us — something no one's heard before and no one expects."

KSE isn't on that tour anymore. Thank God. A7X.....what a bunch of bullshit they are.. KSE deserves to tour with someone a lot better than A7X, which is almost anyone, right now.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD PREPARES FOR 'INVASION'
AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Zacky Vengeance told AOL Music that his band got a kick out of everything that's happened to the quintet since they released their breakthrough album, "City of Evil", in June 2005. Along the way they've opened for METALLICA, traveled the world and, most recently, won an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, despite having been around for eight years.
"It kind of makes us chuckle," he said. "But in the grand scheme of where we are and where we want to be, career-wise, I'd consider us a new band, too. When you look at bands like METALLICA or THE ROLLING STONES, those guys eight years into their careers were still babies, you know?"
In a few days, AVENGED SEVENFOLD will perform at The "Inland Invasion" show, sharing a bill with GUNS N' ROSES, ALICE IN CHAINS, MUSE, BUCKCHERRY, 30 SECONDS TO MARS and more.
"It's always great to play with GUNS 'N' ROSES and ALICE IN CHAINS," said Vengeance. "We're huge fans. And we all love the new BUCKCHERRY song. I think the lineup's fantastic.
"Mainly, I'm just excited to play in front of our fans again," he said. "You forget all about that other stuff when you get up in front of a hometown crowd that's always supported you from the beginning."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO HEAR WHAT THEY'RE WORKING ON
Huntington Beach, CA quintet AVENGED SEVENFOLD has cancelled its previously announced U.K. fall tour, and has postponed plans for a winter U.S. trek in favor of entering the recording studio.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD hopes fans will not be let down, but rather will look forward to seeing them back on the road with new songs to share. The band has been writing songs for its forthcoming album, and is eager to begin recording the CD.
Singer M. Shadows explains the band’s decision: "We love our loyal fans and want to continue giving them the freshest, most awesome show and material possible. We've been playing songs from 'City of Evil' around the world for 15 months and now feel it’s time to bring them something new. We're honored by the growing audiences wanting to see our show, but feel an obligation to our fans to always give them the best we have to offer. We've started writing and can't wait for our fans to hear what we're working on."
Shadows recently told MTV.com that the follow-up to 2005's "City of Evil" will surprise fans. He hinted, "All I can say is, it's going to be a different sound for us — something no one's heard before and no one expects."

i have mad respect for their guitar player. not to many people in the world can play the guitar as fast as he can and be that good. i dont know about a dime a dozen for him. I dont think there is too much originality commin out anymore as it is and if there is its not taken in right away and pushed to the side as not the in thing right now.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD LEARNS FROM METALLICA
AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Zacky Vengeance has told AOL Music that the band is ready to focus on the songwriting process for the follow-up to 2005's "City of Evil".
"I think mentally we're at a good place to start writing, getting our ideas together, 'cause we've been out for a long time," he said. "We're excited to finish the rest of our tour dates and hopefully have a new album soon."
While the band has met SNOOP DOGG and GUNS N' ROSES and become friends with rapper PAUL WALL, Vengeance says they learned the most from METALLICA, with whom they toured Europe. "You're all trying to achieve the same thing," he said, "but when you see the band that has achieved everything you hope to accomplish, they're actually cool enough to talk to you, and, at this point, we consider them friends, that's really the most amazing thing to us."
In fact, Vengeance says getting the call to open for METALLICA ranks right up there with their VMA win for Best New Artist. "Our hearts just about stopped," he recalled.

Avenged Sevenfold Seek Rat-Infested Garage To Record Next LP
First things first, though, as Avenged Sevenfold plan to convene in one of their garages to finish writing.
"Our first three records were written in a garage with rats running around, just with a Pro Tools [recording] setup," Shadows said. "And that's how we're going to write this record. If we upgrade, we'll have a drum set miked in there and we'll actually jam a little bit live."
The band may never even make it to an actual studio.
"It's just going to be gritty," Shadows said. "We want it to be a cool record, not some polished crap just 'cause we've got a couple songs on the radio now. No one needs it to be like that. We're going to do the exact opposite."
