ONE;; Cruelty of Old
The feud between the wolves of Yamamori, once called Yomenimoakarui years ago, and the Guardian Forests has lasted through the ages. It started as a simmering hatred between the packs, who at the time, were rather small, usually just an Alpha pair, a few others of decent ranking and an assortment of subordinates. They were your typical neighbors who hated one another. If a wolf of the other pack was seen trespassing, the tempers would flare for a while then simmer themselves back down to the smoldering hate. For a while, they tolerated each other, but that was about it. If one pack was in trouble, the other didn't give a damn, each'd be quite content with seeing the other drop off the face of the earth.

Years drifted by and the packs began to grow, competing more viciously each year. The Yomenimoakarui were only a little subgroup of the large empire, the whole Yomenimoakarui group was a more southern group, led by a "King" of sorts who dispatched others to the Alphas throughout his vast expanses of land. The central group was more south of where this feud was taking place, but every once and a while, the current King would come and check up on how they were doing, and if they needed it, he'd send more warriors up north to protect the Yomenimoakarui honors. The Guardian Forests, on the other hand, were more of a family group, the same pack being passed through the head family across the years. The strongest sons would recruit warriors and strong wolves, building their forces up over the years, similar to the Yomenimoakarui way of thinking. The Forests wolves weren't quite as battle oriented as the Yomenimoakarui, whose lives revolved around their fighting abilities and stealth skills, but the wolves of the Forests were much more 'value oriented' and when they fought, it was with much more of a cause. The Yomenimoakarui would often fight just because they could, often injuring each other at unneeded times but while doing that, boosting their combat skills to rival no one.

Yomenimoakarui wolves were prized for their dark pelts and light eyes, making their vision terrible in the afternoon sun. This is why they carried the name Yomenimoakarui, meaning "luminous in the dark", referring to the light eyes shining in the night as they pulled off their stealth attacks. When they would attack, it'd almost always be in the dead of night, for their vision was better when the moon shone. The light pigments of their eyes could barely handle the brightness of the day, so they were a nearly completely nocturnal group. The Guardian Forests used this to an advantage during the daylight hours, dividing themselves up to the day and night groups. One division attacked during the day and the other at night, forcing the Yomenimoakarui to always stay on their toes, the day fighting much more difficult for them. Eventually, they got tired of this, and struck one night, slipping past the Guardian Forest boundaries with little notice, moving in the dead of night. The strongest warriors seized the current Alpha's mate, a beautiful female named Hilaeira. She had given birth to pups earlier in the spring, but having young ones at her feet but that wasn't going to stop the Yomenimoakarui forces. They injured her enough so she wouldn't be able to fight back at full capacity and took her back to the mountains, hiding her away in the depths of the pack lands as their hostage.

When the Guardian Forest Alphen discovered this, he was not happy in the very least. He searched his lands up and down, having found two of the four whelps killed and the two remainders injured, plus his mate gone, her blood staining her cave floor, laced with the sent of Yomenimoakarui wolves. He gathered his own troops and sent them to the enemy lands, telling them to kill anything that stood in their paths and to get his wife back. When they did finally found her, the forces were not letting them in without a fight. A violent war raged, killing a large majority of the wolves from both sides, but the Yomenimoakarui wouldn't just give up the wolfess they'd stolen. Eventually, the sides decided to send their best warriors into battle, a one on one fight. A Yomenimoakarui prince went in, his calling Raiden, an ebony wolf with shining blue eyes, a son of the true King who ruled the vast empires of Yomenimoakarui miles away. Guardian Forests sent their best fighter, Athanasius, a skilled brute who was rumored to be immortal by those who had stared him down in battle, although he really wasn't unable to be killed, few had been able to inflict major injury to him. He was ruthless, fighting much like a Yomenimoakarui wolf would but on the Guardian Forests side. All they really had to do was point him towards another wolf and he'd fight without question. The prince fought bravely but it wasn't enough, his shoulder was basically torn off by the ruthless warrior he was fighting. While he was dazed, having seen the muscles of his neck and shoulder lying on the cold earth, the warrior struck, ripping his throat out before the eyes of all other Yomenimoakarui wolves, who were just dumbfounded by having seen their noble prince slaughtered before their very eyes.

Athanasius took the body back to the Guardian Forest lands, satisfied with his killing and threw the carcass off the cliff, not before dragging it around the territory for all to see, the prince's mangled body barely in one piece. Yomenimoakarui wolves were horrified. Their prince deserved proper funeral, not thrown off a cliff, so they were even angrier than before. They gathered their forces, and went in for one final raid. Wolves were killed without mercy, Alphas from both side slaughtered. But in his final shining moments, the Yomenimoakarui Alphen took the beautiful female they'd stolen, stood tall upon a nice hill and tore out her throat before the other side's Alphen, her mate. The leaders fought, the Yomenimoakarui leader killing the Guardian Forest Alpha but only died days later from injury complications. With the leaders dead, the packs went into turmoil. All Yomenimoakarui wolves were either killed or died shortly after from injuries. Most adults from Guardian Forests died, a mere female escaped, taking Hilaeira's two remaining pups with her, having volunteered to nurse them back to health. The female, Admeta, had avoided the war, having had a low pack rank and she wasn't a skilled warrior and unable to carry pups because of infertility. She never really was important but it was because of her, that Guardian Forests had a future.

She was able to raise the pups in peace, having only the help of two other females, an elderly wolfess named Adelpha and a younger, Cyra a yearling girl. The two pups grew and in years to come, they re-founded the Guardian Forests, having heard stories of what'd happened before. Cyra and the male of the pair, Tagen, rebuilt it and created the new empire, dividing it and ruling it with his vicious nature. The pair had children, and, at the time, things were peaceful as far as enemies went because the Yomenimoakarui lands were bare, but still under the King's law so they just let it be because they had their own, internal pack problems. Tagen's son, Narben Severa, was forced to marry a wolfess he really didn't care for. Narben took off with the wolf he really loved, Naeva, but was tracked down. Narben was killed and Tagen was injured. Naeva was coming close to her due date, but was attacked anyway and when her children were born, three were dead because of the fight. The three who lived, Dhrejon, Norantor, and Deacon were hostile towards one another, so they each took off for separate areas of the lands. Dhjeron happened across the aged Tagen, old, ragged, and barely hanging in there. It was Tagen who handed the lands of Guardian Forest over to Dhrejon. Things were looking up.

TWO;; titlesoon!
Dhrejon rebuilt things even more, but most of the old Guardian Forests had been snatched by neighbors. In his days, he met a female and her brother, Dasilvah and Pisces. It wasn't the right place for Pisces so he left, but Dasilvah stayed beside Dhrejon as his mate. They had pups and things continued to grow. No word of Yomenimoakarui had been heard, but back in their central empire, a new King had come to the throne and things were slowly falling apart. Dasilvah was killed and the pups, Dhrejon II, Dakala, Amara, Tanis, and Cadmus were sent to avenge her, but it didn't go as planned. While tracking the cougar who'd killed their mother, they went deep into Yomenimoakarui land and met a female. She was about the same age as they, still somewhat young at the time, about 2 or so. She was violent and bore the same surname as the enemies from years ago: Yomenimoakarui. Shocked by this, the Heirs went back to their aging father to tell him their findings, and he wasn't pleased. Yomenimoakarui had killed so many over the years, viewed as hateful monsters with light eyes. Toorima only partly fitted the description, she was black pelted and quite violent, skilled in fighting and stealth, but her eyes were a rich gold, not blues or pale greens like old Yomenimoakarui wolves. That was the reason why her father, Ulrich, the King, despised her. He'd let the breeding there get out of control and different lines came into the Yomenimoakarui family, making the blue eyes rarer. Turns out, Toorima and her brother, one of the last blue-eyed Yomenimoakarui wolves, Kyuushi, had assassinated Ulrich and no new King had taken over. Wolves either left that place like Kyuushi and Toorima had or been killed.

Toorima had full knowledge that this northern mountain territory belonged to her blood's empire, but they were disbanding or dead. She still bears the surname Yomenimoakarui but few wolves around her know that fact, so technically, the Yamamori lands are a birthright of hers. At that particular time, the tensions were still low, but there was an extra awareness in the Guardian Realms, for they knew that at any moment, Toorima could turn around and cause major problems, but she had her own, personal problems to deal with and had little time to worry about the feuds of her ancient bloodlines. See, Toorima had recently moved in, having been left behind by her brother, her traveling companion since the day they'd left their birth pack, so she had been slinking around her new home when she happened across a male named Orin. He'd recently claimed lands of his own not far from her own. Orin was a large male with a pelt of dark grey tones and shimmering emerald eyes. Both wolves had a lot in common, and she practically fell head over heels for him. They were really close at first, constantly sparring just to test each other out in a friendly way, racing across the valleys, learning from one another, boosting each other's own skills. The two were so alike that they got along great at first, they would've made a wonderful pair of mates, ruling their combined lands as one, but that wasn't meant to be.

In the early stages of their relationship, they spent a lot of time together. Orin's small pack stayed on his land, being watched over by his Betas while he was off with his love. The Yamamori territory mostly became reserved for those two, and it was where they spent most of their time. It was like their private paradise, for Orin's pack wasn't allowed there and Toorima had yet to have a true pack yet. The two became closer and closer as the days went by, and soon, Orin asked Toorima if she'd give him pups. She agreed, a little reluctant at first, not sure if she was ready to raise whelps as she was just only two years old, but Orin wasn't going to let her turn this down, so it was probably better to just go with his suggestion. Anyway, at the time, she still had feelings for him. Little did she know, this would be the beginning of Orin's downward spiral. She gotten pregnant, but even from the beginning, something felt wrong, but she never said a word about her personal concerns. Orin was still sane for the most part in the beginning, taking care of Toorima, showing her off to his pack with a great deal of pride, keeping an ever watchful eye on her. But, disaster struck. Orin experienced multiple periods of, for lack of a better term, going crazy, then returning to normal minutes or hours later, without much remembrance of it. He'd snap at random pack members then not remember it later on.

By then, it was spring, about a month away for Toorima's predicted due date. She fell ill. It was sicker than she'd ever been in her entire life, and by this point, she had almost entirely secluded herself away from the pack because she knew she was almost due to give birth. She knew that something was wrong, and struggled to drag herself off to a den far from the reaches of Orin's pack, and possibly even him, since by this time, she was partially afraid of him. He was erratic, and unpredictable, and she was in no condition to fight with puppies just days away. Toorima knew that if he found out about her being so sick so close to her due date, he'd probably hurt her for "ruining his heirs" or something along those lines, so she hid herself away deep in the mountains. A few days after initially becoming sick, her pups were finally born, but most of them were dead and disfigured, aside from one. Only one survived, but just barely, for the whelp was tiny and sickly too. Toorima feared for her survival, and knew that if Orin laid eyes on his sickly little daughter, he'd kill her without a second of hesitation.

Toorima knew she had to do something, so she sought out a foster parent for the pup, a wolf she knew would take care of the little one, which she'd named Akisu. She didn't really have to look too far, for she found the kindness she was looking for in the lower rankings of Orin's pack. Lani was a female who didn't really care for Orin much, and was just using his pack as a "halfway house" or sorts, just gathering herself up before moving on again. Toorima had noticed the female's affinity with puppies, and asked her one evening if she would be willing to leave Orin's pack and take Akisu with her. Lani agreed without hesitation, and Toorima told her that she could stay in under her protection until she was able to officially move on. Lani took Akisu and worked to nurse her into a better condition and Toorima had to gradually give away her puppy, spending less and less time with them with each day. She knew that she might never see Akisu again, but knew that this was all in Akisu's best interest, and this way, she would actually have a chance of surviving. Soon, Lani and Akisu left the Yamamori packlands entirely, leaving Toorima to face her mate.

For a little while, Toorima made sure to lay low, to let her own strength rebound, but then she went after Orin. At first, her intentions weren't to kill him, to just speak with him, since he hadn't actually seen her since before giving birth. As she had expected, he wasn't thrilled to see her. First, he yelled at her because here she was after vanishing, and she wasn't bringing with her puppies, his perfect little heirs. She told him that they'd all died, and that she'd already buried the bodies, also that she had been sick and had hidden herself away in her own den. It was only a partial lie, more truth in it than lies, but it wasn't what Orin had wanted to hear. He tried to attack her, but a few of the other higher ranking wolves who were losing faith in him held him back mostly, but a few blows were exchanged between the ex-lovers, just nothing major. Orin was furious, and he ended up stomping off, frustrated by her and his pack that was beginning to fail him in a few areas. Toorima just turned and left without a second word, vowing to herself that she'd get him in good time.

With that little bit taken care of for the time being, Toorima decided to officially open her packlands, and shortly thereafter, wolves filtered in. The pack numbers were never massive or anything, but it was enough to actually count as a pack. They were a fairly close knit group too, almost everyone knowing one another at the time, and even Toorima was very close to her members. She was actually able to make quite a few good friends during this early period of time. It was good for the young leader to actually do things like this, normal pack activities such as hunting and just lounging with her friends and subordinates, as all of his life up until now had always been fast-paced. Things were peaceful for a while around the Yamamori packlands, but in their leader's mind, there was a problem that needed taken care of.

She opted to do something about that one autumn evening. She took off, all alone, to the northern edges of her territory, the ones that came closest to his borders, and she summoned him. At first, Orin came alone, and the pair fought, both with intentions to kill, but he had organized for a few of his remaining warriors to sneak in last minute and aid him; he planned to fight dirty, and Toorima was entirely unsuspecting, so she fought as if he was the only other wolf in the world. But, his backups ran late. Orin had his throat ripped out by the Alphess before they could even get there. Toorima had multiple injuries as well, her right eye being the most prominent, causing her to become blind in that eye, and the one golden hues to fade to a dull blue-gray shade. At the point of exhaustion, she crumpled to the ground for a rest since she thought it was over, but a late running warrior finally arrived with intentions to finish her off.

Zurstargush came first, a wolf from Toorima's pack, and he was able to make sure she was at least a little alive. Vermillion was the first of Orin's warriors to make it there, and he just dove into battle without question. His intentions were to off the already weak Toorima. Thankfully, more Yamamori wolves, such as Toukon, Akia, and Kiba arrived there to combat against the strong warriors that Orin had arranged, but they all fell to the superior jaws of Yamamori wolves. That night had been a personal victory for Toorima, as well as one for her pack, for now they no longer had to mess with the occasional angry wolf from Orin's pack seeping back their borders, for without their leader and highest ranking warriors, they were nothing and soon vanished entirely, leaving the lands that had once been theirs in the possession of Yamamori.

THREE;; titlesoon
With that problem seemingly solved, another took no time to show itself. Tensions with the old enemies, Guardian Forests, began to heat up again. First, Toorima just went to the borders to investigate, recalling the group of siblings she had met after just arriving in her territory, and it was there that she was instantly met with hostility. Personally, she had no problems with those wolves prior to that border encounter, but after that, she turned up the dislike and decided to follow in the pawprints of all her ancestors. But, unlike nearly all Yomenimoakarui wolves before her, she was going at this differently. She only had herself with blood relation to the old empires of Yomenimoakarui in the pack, so all the old stories and tales of hate were unknown to most wolves in her pack. Nonetheless, many of them chose to fight alongside her.

Things quickly escalated after that first real meeting, and it led to plots being formulated, plots that involved the assassination of Dhrejon the Elder, the Alpha of the Guardian Realms at the time. He was up there in age, and all Yamamori wolves knew he would be easy to off. But, if they killed him, that would certainly create more instant rage from their neighbors. Yamamori wolves took the chance and knew that they could take on any wolves from the Guardian Realms. They opted to send Toukon, a close friend of Toorima's and skilled warrior, to do the job. He was sent into enemy territory, with Toorima following behind for backup if the need arose, and he was able to mercilessly murder the aging wolf and exit the packlands unnoticed. Of course, they made sure to leave plenty of Yamamori scent markings just so they would know it was them. With that notion, the gears of war were sent into motion.

Yamamori, proud of their accomplishment, were sitting pretty. In no time at all, Guardian wolves found what had happened, and after a period of brief plotting and rank shuffling, they went to Yamamori soil for a change for their retort. Of course, it was after Dhrejon II took over leadership of the pack and rearranging everything to his liking. He was exceptionally hostile on the whole murder of his father, and even took out a good portion of that rage on his resident cougar, Ratha, who would have been an asset to their pack as she had been for their cause prior to that. She had been pregnant with cubs and his rage caused one of them to die, actually. She wasn't thrilled, and opted to dislike Dhrejon quite a bit. Shortly after that incident, Ratha packed up and moved to Yamamori soil, later to fight for their side. Anyway, Guardian wolves gathered their forces and headed into Yamamori, ready to avenge their assassinated Alpha.

Yamamori wolves responded without question, heading into fight and kill whatever crossed their paths. Toorima immediately singled out Dhrejon for her target, while her loyal pack wolves went after his siblings, killing a few of them even. Unfortunately, a few Yamamori wolves were injured this time around, one of them even dying. Toukon, one of their valued fighters, was killing in this fighting, much to everyone's surprise and disappointment. But, he did cause quite the impact on the whole war, so his time in Yamamori was not wasted. It was a bloody fight that evening, many wolves injured. It was a mess to put it simply. This particular pack versus pack battle didn't actually accomplish too much, but it did lay down the groundwork for many more problems, for the fight between Toorima and Dhrejon was yet another pivotal point in the war.

The two leaders had separated from the rest of the packs to settle their war, but that had not been the case. The two fought quite violently, but, it was in the later portion of winter, and Toorima was in heat and without a mate of any sort during that season. Dhrejon, being the male he was, couldn't resist the alluring scent of a female in season and raped her. He was senseless and overwhelmed by lust and the allure of an in-season female. Due to injuries from a whole night of fighting, Toorima was unable to get him away from him. She struggled and struggled but it did no good; the night ended with her laying in a bloodied heap in the middle of the icy plateau, feeling violated, knowing that the likelihood of her carrying the bastard's children was very high. The Guardian Realms had won that night, but it wasn't the final battle. Toorima wasn't going to let him get away with what he had done, but because of what had happened, she had to take a few months off of fighting.

Quite reluctantly, Toorima tucked herself away in the packlands for the months prior to her whelping. The majority of the pack was feeling the blow as well, vowing to get Dhrejon back the minute they were able to regroup. It was a period of basically laying low and sulking for the Yamamori wolves. They had just taken a huge hit that wasn't just going to heal like regular battle wounds. In a few short months, they would have puppies sired by their enemy himself in their midst. But, at the same time, those very pups would also have Toorima's lines, so they couldn't just kill them off, even though that would be the easiest solution to the problem. Even though Toorima had little problem killing full Guardian Forests wolves, there was no way she could bring herself to kill her own puppies, although she had seriously considered the idea in the beginning. They decided that as long as they were raised to be Yamamori wolves, that is what they'd be, despite the sorts of blood that coursed through their veins.

Unknown to Yamamori wolves, who had enough things to keep themselves busy, such as the arrival of an orphan puppy on their lands as well as the death of a beloved member in a hunting accident, they had skilled Guardian spies trailing their leader. They were never caught and never noticed until after her birthing. As her whelping date drew nearer, they kept close tabs on her, reporting back to Dhrejon who had malicious plans for those unborn puppies. Toorima gradually grew more and more reclusive, only being near a few pack wolves as she grew heavier with pups, as well as the one orphan at her side at times. She had accepted that she would be raising these puppies alone, for she still had no mate and there was no way she was letting their father by blood take care of them. Of course, she was a little nervous, as her first attempt at rearing puppies had gone terribly wrong. But, things did change concerning her first littler, for during this period of rest, her daughter, Akisu, who was nearly a year old, returned to her mother. Toorima had hoped to see her daughter during better times, but at least that provided one happy thing in her life at the time.

Finally, the pups were born. It was nearly summer by the time the pups were born, but things had gone well to the mother's surprise, who had expected a repeat of her last birthing experience. All five puppies survived, and were very healthy. Aiyoku, Yokushin, Gekirin, Netami, and Sorcen were their names, and most were varied shades of grays and browns, but Sorcen was a peculiar pup. He was albino. Toorima figured it had something to do with Dhrejon's breeding, for most of her ancestors were dark pelted. It was strange, but Toorima accepted him anyway. Thankfully, on the evening of their birth, Kiba and Rhapsody came and guarded her den, keeping her save while she gave birth. See, both of those males were after Toorima's heart, even though she wasn't interested in the least, so they were doing anything to get on her good side. During that season, they were the only puppies born to the Yamamori wolves, but an important and controversial litter all the same. They carried blood that was unheard of, both Yamamori and Guardian Realms, all in the same wolf. There was no doubt that these pups would grow up strong, it was just a question of how they'd reach that age.

Toorima continued to spend a lot of time around the den, even though she didn't like it very much. Akisu offered to help take care of them, as they were her half-siblings in order to let Toorima stretch her legs every once in a while, as there was no true father there. Things went smoothly until the pups were just about ready to open their eyes. Toorima simply needed a drink, and at the time there wasn't anyone around to watch the pups. She knew it would only take her a few minutes to get something to drink, so she left the pups unattended for only a few moments. It was during those few minutes of being left alone that something went wrong. The Guardian spies had been at it, and they had been given orders to seize the puppies from their mother. Dhrejon wanted to raise them himself. He knew they were going to be strong, and he wanted them to be on his side, even though he had his own, legitimate litters of pups with his mate back home. So, the spies saw Toorima's leave as a chance to strike, and they attempted to steal the litter, managing to take three of the five puppies. Toorima ran back as quickly as she could, but the spies threatened to kill the pups if she advanced any further on them. A mild fight broke out but the Guardian wolves had themselves three new puppies.

Absolutely furious, Toorima and the rest of her pack, upped their own defenses, watching for the percentage opportunity to strike back. They were falling further and further behind in this war, but needed the perfect chance to strike back. Akisu moved the remaining two puppies, Yokushin and Aiyoku, to a more protected area in the pack, somewhere besides the denning area. Those two were to grow up there, in the supreme seclusion of a grove of trees deep in the packlands. Very few subordinate wolves, no matter how trusted, were told of the location, and Toorima and Akisu guarded it carefully, only leaving when the other could stay, things like that. It was Yamamori's period of heightened security, and things were fairly tense for a while.

FOUR;; The Fate of Deceit
During this, the actual pack itself grew immensely. Their numbers increased and more strong wolves moved in. All new wolves who wished to participate in the war were filled in, if they hadn't heard about it before even moving to the Yamamori territory. There were some minor problems that broke out among the ranks, but rarely did it turn into anything major. One thing that was a pretty important was the search for Koani, the orphaned pup who had vanished from packlife during the last few weeks. Thankfully, he was found near some human establishments and was able to be brought back into packlife safely. Also, Toorima managed a short meeting with her dear brother, who she found was on his last leg of life. Even though on the surface things looked content around the Yamamori territory, Toorima was constantly plotting her enemy's demise, as well as wondering what had become of her lost children.

After a little longer, approximately six months, Yamamori wolves continued to lay low and keep their plans very secret, that is, until one stormy summer night. Akki led the charge, being one of Toorima's closer friends as well as the Lead Warrior. She led the first group of fighters deep into Guardian territory, and they were unnoticed until Akki sounded the war howl, summoning Dhrejon to meet his fate. Toorima was there, but she only wanted to fight Dhrejon, not any of his stupid siblings, so she kept low until he showed his face. It was going to be the war to end it all, and Yamamori forces were ready to go, where the Guardian wolves had no real plan of attack. They were forced to just meet what came their way. To the surprise of many, Dhrejon was actually one of the first to show his face of the Guardian Realms wolves, only after howling for whatever shrivels of a pack he had left. When all of the Guardian fighters had finally arrived, they were immensely outnumbered, for Yamamori wolves kept filtering in. Ratha, the cougar that Dhrejon had even chased off of his packlands, even came to fight against Yamamori's enemies. All the Yamamori wolves were already pumped and ready to fight. A few insults were tossed around, then all hell broke loose.

Yamamori wolves were able to easily seize the upper hand. There was more of them, and they were much more driven after having lost many of the smaller battles of the war recently. They were ready to redeem themselves as the superior force in the mountains. To put it simply, there was chaos, but chaos that was Yamamori winning. They were inflicting more injuries and fighter harder than any Guardian wolf could ever dream to. Of course, Dhrejon was the centerpiece of the disaster. Since there were many more Yamamori wolves than Guardian ones, a few were able to gang up on Dhrejon, but Toorima had most of his attention. She fought without regard against him, wishing for nothing but his death. She was accompanied by Rhapsody, Akisu, Knight, and Ratha for the most part. Other wolves helped, but they made the most impact. They ripped away his sides, maimed his face, his legs, and even his tail. They took care to make sure there would be nothing left of him. Toorima delivered the final blow and tore out his jugular, leaving the once "mighty" Alpha to drown in whatever blood he hadn't already spilled. Dhrejon Sangra had died that storming summer evening, signaling the end of the blood feud that had drug on for years.

Around the dueling Alphas, all Guardian wolves fell to the superior jaws of Yamamori wolves, and things were finally looking up for the wolves who had taken so much damage from their dastardly neighbors. Of course, there were wounds on the Yamamori side, just as is expected with any war, but none of them died. Toorima had decent wounds on her limbs and face, but nothing life threatening, although she would be stuck with a limp for the rest of her life, she knew it was for a good cause. It was something she was willing to deal with after knowing that she had killed Dhrejon, the bane of her existence for most of her life, and also proved that the Yamamori wolves were just all around better than any Guardian Realms wolf could ever dream of being. Anyway, all Yamamori wolves walked back home with their lives intact and a weight off their shoulders. They'd won and now they would rest easier now. Plus, to make things better, they staked some of the old Guardian Forests territory as new Yamamori terrain and chased whatever living remains of the pack, mostly Dhrejon's old mate and his offspring, far away. They were never seen after the actual war, presumed to have either left or just up and died. Either way, no one really cared much, and after all of this settled down, Toorima issued a few promotions, such as Akki and Nia to the rank of Beta and Ulric to the title of Lead Hunter.

FIVE;; The Spilling of Blood
Things calmed down after this as the Yamamori wolves let their wounds heal, but they all held a sense of vindication and accomplishment after that. Normal packlife returned but come autumn, come things started to pop up. Word of a gang wolf rogue wolves led by a male named Van Silas Yakusho arrived at Yamamori. Toorima, due to injury complications, was forced to stay near the center of the packlands, so she heard little of what was going on around the borders, but Van and his group of followers trespassed onto Yamamori soil. The strange wolf came looking for a female named Freya, one who had moved to Yamamori during the summer. He had a history with her, and she had told him she would find a male named Shax for Van, another wolf who had once resided in Yamamori. Freya didn't find this Shax character, and Van was not thrilled in the least. The dark creature had a reputation for being a monster, and he upheld this by raping poor Freya and leaving her to raise his pups alone. He had no idea Freya had birthed pups, since they were born very early in the season. Freya had almost lost hope, but thankfully the young prince Yokushin encouraged her to live strong. He helped her out to raise four pups, wanting to help the best he could.

During all of this, two of Toorima's stolen children were plotting. Sorcen and Netami wanted revenge for Dhrejon's death, and had been raised on the idea that Toorima and all associated with her were bad news, so they jumped at the chance to have a reason to attack. They also snuck into the packlands, having been left behind by Dhrejon's mate and his surviving children, and they sought out Toorima. She was still in a somewhat pitiful state from the final fight, so she was slower and weaker than normal, an easy target for two wolves with revenge on their minds. They found her up on her higher cliffs, and cornered her there. Although she was hurt, they were only two yearlings that had no official fight training, so they weren't exactly the best fighters in the world. Toorima was only able to fend them off for a while, as it was two against one. She was injured further and rendered unconscious, just mere inches from losing her life when Yokushin arrived on the scene. He had heard the snarls from afar, and had grown terribly protective of his mother during the past few weeks and spent his days worrying and fretting over her. Yokushin had been out looking for her anyway since he had appointed himself her caretaker and felt it was his job to watch out for her at all times, although there really wasn't too much he could at just under a year old. Anyway, he jumped blindly into the fight, not having any idea as to what he was getting himself into.

Yokushin battled wolves he realized were his siblings, as Sorcen had quite the original appearance, and then Koani arrived shortly after. He too joined the fight simply to protect his mother, as he really wasn't the fighting type. Thankfully, Toorima had sort of been able to inflict a few wounds on the two assailants and tired them out a little, so they were not at their peak any longer. Yokushin and Koani fought these two, gaining only a little ground on the two revenge-fueled siblings. Thankfully, Ulric came to the area too, a little late, but there nonetheless, and was able to aid Koani and Yokushin further. In the end, Koani injured Netami substantially and then tossed her off the cliff's edge, bringing about her end, while Yokushin and Ulric ganged up on Sorcen, killing him by pulling out his throat, leaving him to die in a bloodied heap. This was both Yokushin and Koani's first fight and first kill, a pivotal event in a young wolf's life, especially since the wolves they had killed had been their siblings. But, all true Yamamori wolves were able to walk away from this situation, even Toorima who had started to teeter towards consciousness towards the end of the fight. It had been a somber day, especially for the young males, but they accepted that it had to be done for the safety and well-being of the packlands and themselves.

They all returned to the packlife to heal and think. It was a time of, well, angst for many Yamamori wolves. Winter was upon them, the weather was terrible that year. It was one of the worst that the lands had seen, aptly named The Harsh by the residents of the terrain. There was ice everywhere, massive snow drifts, and temperatures that even made a heavily coated wolf think twice about roaming around in for hours on end. It really didn't help the dull spirits of the wolves at all, for most of them had their own personal problems to think about as well as the pack's issues as a whole. Everyone spent the majority of their time trying to survive the weather and sulking around, mostly alone. There were a few happy moments, but they were overshadowed by the fact that things would need to be changing around Yamamori in the future. The leader wasn't in her top form any longer, and she knew that soon she would have to give it up to her heirs, but no one was really ready to accept that, not yet anyway. But, at least there were no huge wars going on, just a lot of sullen wolves lurking around the lands buried in snow.

To worsen matters, mysterious murders and disappearances were happening to a few pack wolves, a few of which were related, making things even more insidious. Daikirai Misaki and Fang Misaki were the first two reported missing. Shinsei Masurao and De'dara Masurao were the next, and both of their bodies were found, unlike the first pair. There was a fifth victim, Matsudai Ketsueki was the most mysterious, as he wasn't a huge part of pack life and fairly distant anyway. No one knew anything about what had happened, but after the initial string of murders, there weren't anymore, or even any traces of any foul play. There were no tracks to follow to find answers. Shinsei's death impacted the pack the most. Akki, his mate, was carrying his pups, and she did not take word of his dead very well at all, and vowed to find his killers. One final thing was the disappearance of Nia Misaki, the pack's beta and brother to a victim, vanished shortly after all of this without word.

Toorima hadn't been excluded from all this moping around. Things had been made worse for her after the mysterious murders, but her spirits were lifted one afternoon when she happened across something she had not expected. Her last and final son, Gekirin, had returned home to her, and unlike his brother and sister before him, he did not have intentions to kill. He wanted to be accepted by her as her son, and she welcomed him with open arms. She had wondered about him much more after the Sorcen and Netami incident, and now she didn't have to wonder anymore. All of her living offspring were here with her, not roaming the valleys and mountains alone. This made the aging Toorima very happy, and even if her other sons didn't quite like Gekirin being home as much as she did, everyone learned to cope for the most part, save the for the typical sibling rivalries and such.

SIX;; Nursing the Wounds
Finally, Spring came to the mountains, warming both the land and the spirits of those walking those lands. There were tons of melting snow to deal with, some of it even flooding the low-laying denning area, but that was minor. Spring the was season of new life, and even before spring officially arrived, there was one litter of new ones in Yamamori. Freya birthed her litter sired by Van late in the winter, high up in the mountains. Yokushin found her hiding in a cave and saved both her and her pups' lives by offering help for the dying bunch, even if Freya was apprehensive of him. That aside, Freya had a litter of four, three little girls named Jurune, Erin, and Nina, and one boy, Malekai. A few of them were a little on the small side, but they had been born during hard times.

Akki birthed her litter a few weeks into spring, another brood of four with similar division among the sexes. Three girls, Misora, Hikaru, and Kirei, and one boy called Tatsu. They all had white to cream shades of fur, as both of their parents were of the arctic variation. It was Akki's first litter that she would have to raise without a father figure, but that had become commonplace around Yamamori in recent years. Both of Toorima's previous litters had no fathers in their lives, and neither did Freya's brood. It was if having a father was something that no Yamamori pup would even know about. Thankfully all of these father-less pups had been born fairly healthy, and the pack was willing to pitch in to help such a cause. They would grow quickly, but not without a bit of drama added to their already heavy lives.

The gamma male, Fuego had been a pack member for quite some time. He had even established a strong bond with a dark female called Fola. Their bond was difficult for one to break, and they had been planning to have pups together. It was believed that Fola was carrying a litter sired by Fuego. They would be proud parents, if not for the devastation of the disappearance. Fola suddenly vanished from the packlands, leaving the gamma male in complete disarray. His love for her would not die, and he didn't even know if she really had been pregnant at the time of disappearance. He revealed his frustration to his close friends, and soon everyone was keeping an eye out for the young soon-to-be mother. But to no avail, for Fola was not found. She was presumed dead, leaving Fuego slightly bitter and saddened deeply.

A more relaxed, yet dark period floated by as Summer came. The pack was still remembering the events of the war, and a strange essence lingered by. The pack realized that the great alphess Toorima would pass soon, for her aging had been sped up by scars of old. The pack began to discuss dreadful subjects like who would be the next leader. The decision of most was Akki, beta female. They believed she would keep the pack in structure, though her anger was as random as anything. It would be her duty to lead the pack and insure its survival until one of the alpha heirs were responsible enough, and could step forward in Toorima's place. Some did not look forward to her leadership, such as Kiba, who was fearful of Akki.

The rest of the season was filled with the warm playfulness of the pups, but also the overhanging shadow from the adults. Van was still somewhere near the pack lands, and the mysterious killings hadn't been solved either, so there was understandable unease. As fall came around, Van Yakusho came with it. He arrived with intentions to find and kill Freya, and he accomplished just that. He also murdered one of the puppies, terrified the rest of the litter, beat the living hell out of Yokushin who tried his best to save them, and was met by a wolf who had been tracking him for quite some time. Bhalthair Conell, a gray-pelted, cultured past Alpha turned loner had sought out the murderer for quite some time after his own life had been shred by the bastard, and found him on Yamamori territory. Bhalthair battled Van, and killed him, but was further injured by his angry followers, and was left to a wound induced death after the battle. Thankfully, his actions did away with one more of Yamamori's problems.

SEVEN;; titlesoon!
Winter brought its chilling winds to the lands, and many of the residents kept to themselves. However, one new "resident" decided he was to make it his mission to bring trouble. Zyuushima Yomenimoakarui, Toorima's younger half brother, had found his way to Yamamori and he was the kind of wolf that made a living out of being a nuisance. In fact, he was the wolf responsible for the mysterious killings of nearly a year before, but he kept that on the down low. He came with an intense dislike of solid black or white wolves which unfortunately, Yamamori was full of. That also tied in with the murders because the majority of the wolves attacked were of solid shades. His present intentions were just his typical violent mischief and disobedience, like bothering the younger wolves and terrorizing the older ones. Toorima initially told him to get the hell out of her pack lands, but with her health so poor, there was little she could personally do to enforce this rule. Also, she was reluctant to tell anyone that her little brother was among them, but the pack found out on its own in time that he was trouble.

However, before he could truly start anything, Toorima finally passed on. She had made her way to her favorite point in the northern areas of the lands to reflect, and was joined by her sons Yokushin, Koani and eventually even Gekirin, her daughter Aiyoku, and also aging friend, Kiba. With their company, she passed quietly from what was probably a combination of old injuries never healing properly, illness, and old age, leaving Akki as the new alphess of Yamamori. With Spring already upon them shortly after Toorima's death, Yokushin called forth a meeting to tell the awful news of his mother's passing as well as introducing the new alphess, Akki. Fuego spoke of the terror that was Toorima's brother. The bastard had killed his sister, Ceridwen and left the poor Gamma male in pieces. The new cream-coated leader made a deep vow that they would hunt down this ice-eyed animal, and destroy him once and for all. Even with the warm taste of the Sun wrapping around the lands, there was new trouble about that would defy all knowledge of the wolves.

But meanwhile, Toorima's bastard half-brother Zyuushima was still prowling about the lands. The pack was hit hard by their alphess's death, and it was difficult to recover. But even so, Akki was determined to cause massive pain to the brute. The grey male avoided this well, and even managed to screw around with Toorima's daughter, Aiyoku. This ridiculous incest caused Yokushin to throw quite a fit, but the two still were around, belittling their common genes and getting it on in a time of darkness.
