The RPG takes place in 2012, almost ten years from when the hellmouth in Sunnydale was shut down and of course, it’s been almost ten years since all the potential Slayers were activated. Willow and Giles opened the Slayer Academy in England, close to the new Watcher’s Council. Originally, the Academy was to only train Slayers- but since it was started they have begun to train Witches, Warlocks and male Slayers as well. The Male Slayer is a relatively new concept that Willow instituted. She managed to find a way to instill the demonic spirit used to create a Slayer in males that showed potential as Slayers, but lacked the necessary strength and reflexes.

The threat of the First is still rife, but it’s predominantly underground and hasn’t been sighted by many for several years. The Academy believes that the First is gathering forces and plans to strike back newer and stronger than before. This is one of the reasons that the Academy started training more than just regular Slayers. Most of the magical world is already feeling the effects that a new power is rising, but for the time being everyone is still very uncertain of what they will have to face- and how vital a role the Academy will play.

The Academy is still not exactly co-operating with the new Council, but they have already accepted aid in the form of funding and equipment for the school. Willow and Giles have left the Academy for the time being, choosing to search for new Slayers and potential allies for when the First does decide to resurface. The new Headmaster, Vaughan, believes that the First is not the biggest threat that the Academy faces. He has personal information on what to expect from the next big battle, but has chosen not to disclose this to any students for the time being.
