Hi all,

I want your help. What would make this forum better? Besides the obvious "more posting," what would make you come back more often to Rosa Mystica Forums? Regarding the obvious point, we just need people to post more often or bring in more new people. But as far as ideas for this place, are there any out there?

Well, RMF is one of the forums I already regularly check while internetting, so only a highly-increased pace of activity would bring me here more often. In my case probably the more interesting question is what would it would take to pull me out of lurker-mode, since for some reason I very rarely feel like I need to say anything here...

I guess I haven't got much to post in the present topics? RM discussion I have little to say on by this point, and many of the active threads at the moment are either more the 'icebreaker' type, or stuff like weather chat, which rarely has anything unexpected and surprising in it, and so is kinda hard to get enthusiastic about. And for the other threads (gaming platforms and sports, for example), I've already said what I have to, I guess.

So yeah, we could do with more varied topics or something? Though I know they're not easy to come up with... ^^;

Hm I guess it's hard since RM is currently in a haetusish mode as far as the anime is concerned. There's the whole "vol 8" thing but... other than that nothing much to talk about regarding the anime itself

Peronally sometimes I'm just lazy to log on and stuff XD. That and I'm hella busy as of late.

I wanna say it's fine as is but... that sorta seems lazy of me. Of course, i can think of nothing to contribute atm.

I do think however, that "whoring" the forum *as in bringing in stupidly high number of members* may seem good but a tight community is also = as fun imo. So that one's a double edged sword.

Other than that no real imput atm. Maybe this'll help or not idk *continues drawing*

Yeah, I think pretty much the only thing we need to work on is making more new topics and getting some more people to post regularly.

1 - a Role Play Game.
on my forum i make a little RPG about some Dolls in the "lost" series (the telefilm, i don't know if you watched it) where these dolls (after doing a little file with Doll name, power and personality) they are "lost" in a mysterious island.
The staff or an admin do the 'story.teller'..he speak about the place, the weather, the time and the happenings. (some animals, people or magical power)

2 - a place where we can talk about peach-pit and other their series

3 - in Hina's Sketchpad you can add other thing...i make an example
on my forum i make:
Fan Art zone
Fan Fiction zone
Fan Club zone
Fan Dub zone ( + AMV )

4 - i usually organise some event like these:

*to who has got a microphone, we can dub some clip (in english, obviously, i'm a dubber so it seems funny try to dub in english *_*)
*the best set (avatar or icon 100x100 + banner)
*the best of the month: the character of the month, the OST of the Month, the pic of the Month
*we are doing a monthly magazine (i call it "the rabbit gazette") so you can make an magazine with all users ^O^

5 - make some house. I don't know here, but on domain forumfree the forums usually make some "characters house". users chose their favorite house (character) and the staff organize some games for all house. the house who win gains some points

6 - meeting in chat è___é i always said the chat is the most important thing to know each other. I make a funny bot for my users *w*

I'm not Norm or Barry, but here's my thoughts:

There hasn't seemed to be much energy for role-playing, but any that does bubble up can easily take place in the games forum.

There's already a Shugo Chara thread in the other anime section, and any other threads of Peach Pit series can also live there happily.

I'm really seeing a pattern here of wanting to over-categorize things. If we suddenly get flooded with creative threads of a certain kind, it'll be easy enough to create a new area for them, but for now it's easier for browsing to have one big section.

These seem good. If there's participation, I'd be for any of them.

This doesn't really seem to fit with RMF. This is a place to talk about Rozen Maiden and generally have fun. Persistent points aren't really a thing with that.

There's always MSN and AIM. I guess we could try reviving the IRC, but that never seems to last long. Maybe some time we can have a group chat in one of the messengers or something.

These are doable. I've been thinking about putting up an IRC thread so people can post when they're in there and attract other members in. Having a big group chat is usually very fun. :D

We tried something like #5 but there was a lack of activity. Glossarienvogel has pretty much covered the rest of them in his post above.

I really like these.

I used to be on a chao board that did a monthly magazine, where different people did different sections and someone put it all together (like news, fandom, polls, art, etc). It was a lot of fun.

I've been thinking a lot about this...
How abt if we pw protect the manga downloads links(or other download links)? Only members with certain amounts of posts can ask for pws. People will definitely post more because of that (no spamming though). It'll get rid of freeloaders too.(i hate them, they just come, get the link and leave) How about it?

I think passwording would just cause people to not bother and go get it somewhere else. Hopefully folks who came here just to get links would be swayed by our awesome members and conversations to stay. :P

I think one thing that would get more people here would be actually translating and releasing the new manga, but that's quite an undertaking.

I agree, people aren't likely to stick around for password-protected downloads. I've seen that at a few other forums before, and it just made me want to leave because it made the admins seem like jerks.

About pw protection: I think it would be good to protect the downloads that way, because those kind of people, who are just here in order to get the manga and would get it somewhere else are not needed by a community after all.

Well my suggestions are, perhaps advertise a little more. Also maybe some Top sites.

Maybe a new skin. This one has been up for a while, to my knowledge.

And, maybe a conversion to Zetaboards.

Though I don't know what all of your opinions are about that software.

Unless there's a massive member uprising demanding a new skin, I doubt that's changing. The current skin was designed to be a permanent one, and I like it.

I never did experiment much with Zetaboards, but what I did see of it I didn't like. Plus we're all pretty comfy here, there's no reason to stray away from the Invisionfree system that's working just fine for us.

I think the skin is perfectly fine, as well. I just didn't know what the other members here thought.

Anyways, as stated in the first post, making more posts and topics are always good. It's always good to try to find what everyone likes to talk about so they're always be a good conversation flowing. =]
