Title: Gaming Platform?

Tasogare - March 15, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
I've just recently got an XBOX 360. Graphics are amazing, iunno why some people don't like it... I've sort of been getting into video gaming, yeah.

But what consoles do you guys use/prefer?

I have a, uh, Sega Genesis.

SNES wins this fight. No contest, it has games that are simply too awesome to beat.

Did somebody say games that are simply too awesome to beat?

Because it is associated with Microsoft, which people like to hate? =P

And my favourite platform may be the PC, though I'd like to see more people making games using less Windows-exclusive methods. MS don't really need help maintaining their stranglehold over the desktop OS market...

As for consoles... I like the Wii best of current offerings, and the 360 seems worth consideration, even if it is just for AC6. The PS3, on the other hand, I do not like, muchly because of Sony using it to push Blu-ray. (Which was a smart decision for the format war, but it does not inspire trust in their commitment to the PS3 as a gaming console, I think.)

Overall, I tend to favour Nintendo's consoles, due to having played many fun things on them since the SNES days. Apart from those, my favourite would be the PS2, which I don't like that much itself (loading times, design issues, etc.), but has some games I really like.

All I own is a Nintendo DS Lite. And I only have two games for it worth playing.

Hah, that's true. But I like Microsoft just because they have Word. I fail when I try to type with anything else.

It's really hard to get your hands on a Wii. They sell out so fast... O_o

The PS2 isn't the greatest, but it has amazing games.

The Wii runs what I want to play. Thus far I have spent $0 on my 360, because it doesn't have any games I want, though that's kind of a catch-22 because I'd probably enjoy some of the online stuff. Maybe if they'd have built in some wi-fi I would be giving them money.

Definitely the Wii. For one thing, its games are actually fun, which is more then I can say about the 360 or PS3 right now. Not to mention it's a helluvalot cheaper than...uh, everything else that's out right now. And free online gameplay and Virtual Console = <3

Possibly not for long? Besides, what online games do you play for Wii?

You didn't get that Burger King game?

Actually no. I kind of wanted to, but then I realized it wouldn't be that much more fun than a similar game without the King. That and I never even saw it in stores.

I'm pretty sure it was available only at Burger King, regardless. :P

I guess I didn't see it because I don't go to Burger King, then. Case closed!

This is late but...

I own a computer, containing VBA and Project 64, which BTW are emulators to Game Boy (Advance) and Nintendo 64. Also IDeaS and DSEmu, both emulators for DS (thought both don't work...)

So much just to prove that computer is by far is best electronic device to own...

At the moment I have Playstation 2 (it's small, cute and flat! ^.^) and computer of course.

My favorite platforms are:
Playstation 2 (Because it has the Final Fantasy X, the first FF with voices!)
Nintendo Wii (Rayman Raving Rabbids! And with mods, you can play original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and Game Cube games too! Wiiiii!)
