As the topic suggests, why does Souseiseki recieve the least amount of love in the RM dolls? Personally Souseiseki is my favourite, but her twin always seem to overshadow her...

whilst i do agree that suiseiseki gets way too much attention (because of 'desu') i wont go saying that 'boku's' unpopularity isn't at least a little warrented...

i guess the easiest way to some up why i think there's little to no love for boku, would be a 'laundry list'...

1. she looks like a dude! looks are important, and of the 8 dolls, she's the least cute... even in a dress...

2. she lacks personality... or it's not explored very well... she's all about father, her master and fighting... tho she takes part in the comedic parts of traumend every now and then, she's more the 'straight man' to hina and desu...

3. in the manga, she's there for like 5 pages (intentional over exaggeration) before she gets blatted... thankfully, in the anime she's there a bit longer, but she's still the first one to lose her rosa mistica...

4. she's unemotional... she's quick to look at things too logical ... she turns on her own sister, because 'that's what daddy wants'... and in overture, she cuts the then-innocent suigintou in half, simply because she is there...

and 5. she never wants to give up the alice game... even if it would mean she would have to kill desu, she never ever says 'i will not fight'... and is quick to remind everyone that the 'purpose' of the rozen maidens is for them to kill each other as part of their fathers sick little game (which, looks to be a lie at the end of traumend)...

all that said... i don't think she is 100% unlikable... her weapon is certainly the coolest, and any fight scene with her in it, just looks awesome...

so don't fret... there is just a little love for boku out there... :grin: (all be it, most of that is incestuous hentai fan art kind of love :omfsm:)

I, personally, thought she was boring and she looked too much like a boy.
When you look at the other dolls, she kinda doesn't fit in at all.

Souseiseki's awesome. I like her choice of weapon there, heheh, and how she was pretty masculine. In a way I can somewhat relate to her. I also enjoyed the fight scenes she was in.

I like her as much as Suiseiseki, I can't say which one I like more. From me, much love to Boku!

Souseiseki certainly isn't unloved in my book. She's probably my second favorite next to Bara/Kira. I really admire her loyalty and sense of duty.

Actually, Souseiseki's tied for my favorite... although I can easily see why she wouldn't be as popular.

Those are all very good points...but still...I would love to see Souseiseki more focused on...She is more human, and less annoying in most circumstances. Her battle stance is pure PWNage.

If Suigintou is my most favourite character, she takes second place....arrr :arrr:

I don't really like Souseiseki much at all. She's just so... boring. I don't really have much else to say about that.

Also, I disagree that the scissors are the best weapon. I'd say the wings and the crystals take that title. :P

Anyway, Souseiseki is the most old fashioned out of all the dolls. Where everyone else tries to forget about father's wishes and they want to stay with Jun(except Suigintou), she is prepared to continue her fight for father, no matter the cost. Though this ends up getting her killed, one can't help but admire her duty to her father.

Anyhoo, whenever I talk to a friend about RM, Suigintou and Suiseiseki are always brought up in the conversation. And when I go "What about Souseiseki?" Nobody has anything to say except "I like her hat." This makes meh sad, 'cuz she's my favorite doll. D: (Even thought her hat is awesome. O.o)

If she's unpopular it's due to her rare and underestimated trait - loyality. Souseiseki's determination is touching and admirable, but very unfortunate, because she's loyal to something evil.

I wish they better develop her epic fighting style in fighting games. In Alibat there is only one type of attack with scissors.

Have you played Rozen Mugen traumend? She's awesome in it, though Kanaria is the most overpowered of all the dolls except Suigintou Final...

they should make another OVA detailing sousuiseki's/suiseiseki's past (and one for kana and hina too)... perhaps there's a reason for how unemotional and subservient she is.

it would certainly help to improve her popularity, like overture did for suigintou...

I dunno, I don't believe Suey and Soey have the same dramatic history as Angel-san and Stinku. Even less so with Hina and Kana.

As for Rozen Mugen... Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Mugen that massive 2d battle engine you told me about, goldraine? Apparently it's got character from... Well, just about everything. Pretty low budget though, from the videos I've seen.

hmmm, well it would be hard to match the intensity of overture with desu and boku, but i think they could make something that was at least a little interesting...

as for hina and kana, all that would be is 2 episodes worth of insanity... funny insanity... lol...

No doubt tha Souseiseki is badassed and is way more badassed then most of the dolls. I think Suiseiseki over shadows her becuase she stands out more most of the time. When Souseiseki is fighting, no one notices anything other than her.

I don't think there needs to be a reason, beyond simple devotion to duty; I always had the impression that it was just how Souseiseki was, like how pride is part of Shinku's nature and childishness is an aspect of Hina's...
