Title: Genre?

Stormin Norman - April 28, 2007 04:19 AM (GMT)
So, what's your favorite anime genre?

Personally, I like a bit of everything. It can depend on my mood. I'll watch some comedy, action, drama/romance, etc. And of course I like animes that have a bit of all of those things the best.

goldraine - April 28, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
What would Death Note be? Drama? If so, drama.

Suigintou's Friend - April 28, 2007 05:32 AM (GMT)
I chose comedy because those are the ones I tend to like the most. I'll watch whatever kind of genre there is as long as it's entertaining, but subpar comedies usually tend to be more entertaining than say, a subpar horror or a subpar drama.

Chikane - April 28, 2007 09:14 AM (GMT)
I don't have a particular favorite, I watch and enjoy all genres. So, I just picked All of the above. ._.

Guy - April 28, 2007 01:55 PM (GMT)
(It would be easier to pick my least favorite genres... <.<)

The combination of psychological, mystery, and supernatural seem like they would best fit into drama. Those aren't the only genres I like, they just have the most potential.

Euphorian - April 28, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
I do watch all of them, but I went ahead and putted Romance, because I guess I've been watching a lot of it lately. I'm in the middle of Crescent Love and Chobits. So, yeah, whatever. I also like Supernatural and Psychological though.

Bara-bara - April 29, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
I think I'll answer 'drama' for this. This is my reasoning:

- Can't say 'all of the above', since it includes ecchi and sci-fi, the former of which I dislike and the latter I'm just generally 'eh' about.
- My very favourites tend to contain things like cuteness, good action, and drama.
- Cuteness isn't really a genre, is it...?
- The most interesting action scenes are the ones that are dramatic.

Comedy is nice also, but I think I tend to prefer it as a supporting element unless it's really well done. ^^

nekoconeko - April 29, 2007 04:00 AM (GMT)
I saw 'All of the Above' because: as long as it's a good anime, then it doesn't matter what genre it is!

Styx Boatman - April 30, 2007 04:04 AM (GMT)
I like all genres...it isn't the genre which attracts me to a show but the story/plot and its execution....arrr :arrr:

NekoHennuli - April 20, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
Hmmh.. Comedy I guess..
They're so many kind of animes that I like so.. Ah.. Tough one. =P

It should be.

lol year-old post.

I picked "all of the above" simply because I don't really have a set "preference". But most of what I watch falls under comedy, drama, and sci-fi.

Maronakins - April 21, 2008 12:31 AM (GMT)
comedy. I'd rather laugh than anything else, though, srsly, I'll watch it all.

AKC - April 21, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
Comedy as a major, romance as a minor. I enjoy funny love. XD Some drama and action in the mix makes a nice balance, but for me, I just can't handle overly serious series. It feels too intense for me.

I can't take horror. I'm really sensitive ^^;;

I don't like ecchi or sci-fi either, Bara Bara. (I'm religious, so ecchi bothers me, and sci-fi is just a little bit boring when it's the main focus.)

Cuteness should be a genre. I can't watch anime, even if it's like THE BEST THING EVER, if the art doesn't appeal to me (and I'm super picky).

Kasi - April 28, 2008 08:55 AM (GMT)
Action
Comedy
Drama
Fantasy
Horror

I tend to exclude genres more than look for them though. Those being Romance, Ecchi, Hentai, Mecha.

AKC - April 28, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
Ah, yeah, mecha is usually boring to me too (although I will admit getting into Zoids: Chaotic Century and Medabots when I was little XD).

Iko - September 23, 2008 02:24 AM (GMT)
Action, Fantasy, Comedy, Drama, Adventure. I guess.

Anything that falls into one of those categories.

Delight - September 23, 2008 03:30 PM (GMT)
I like drama, preferably mixed with fantasy, romance, action or sci-fi.
I don't like mecha because they are horribly unrealistic.
I don't mind a bit of hentai as long as it doesn't feature loli or pixelation or stupid plot.

ena-chan - September 5, 2009 02:14 AM (GMT)
i like supernatural and horror it gives me idea on the thrills
