Title: Best Video Game Moments
Stormin Norman - April 26, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
Everyone who's played video games has a few of these. Those times you cleared a mission in an adventure game with a perfect score, or totally pwned your friend at a fighting game. What are some of your best video game moments?
One of mine was a good number of years ago playing Super Smash Brothers. I was playing one-on-one against another kid who was the best at it. I was Donkey Kong, he was Samus, and we each had I think three lives. Before the match he said to me "I'll bet you $10 you can't even kill one of my lives!", and I took his bet. When it started, I went over to the edge of the arena and waited for him to approach me. As soon as he did, I grabbed him and jumped off of the edge, killing both of us, and winning the bet. That was the only time I killed him that match, though. :sweatdrop:

When playing Guilty Gear XX:#R and Tekken 4 or 5, there've been a number of times where I made dramatic comebacks when it looked like a winning streak would be broken. The more impressive part of that doesn't really count as a moment, though, so much as a series of them that's kinda blurred together. =P
(I tend not to hold back in fighting games, if my opponent is at least decent. ^^)
Red Alert 2, last mission of the Soviet campaign, I think?: I was rushed by the enemy at the start of the mission, and quickly lost every unit and building I had, except for two Kirov airships.
Instead of restarting because I'd lost my ability to build anything, I kept going, and eventually won, mainly due to very careful choice of targets.
Those airships are awesome.
Excite Truck: Repeatedly trying one particular level, aiming to get more than 130 stars; my plan was to get 80 from stunts and to get 50 from first place.
One time, I hit a truck that'd crashed, and was thus (for some reason) impossible to knock out of the way; I was therefore stopped dead, and after trying to push forwards for a bit, had to reverse, and go round. Since I'd only narrowly won (or lost) previous races, I thought I might as well restart, but decided instead to keep going so I could practice getting over 80 stars normally (which so far I'd failed at).
However, that time, not only did I get nearly 90 stars from stunts, I also came first somehow. ~140 stars total, and victory! =O
There was also a race where I got 101 stars just from tree runs, and about 150 from other sources. Don't remember the other player's score, but I think it was about 130 or so? Not exaclty the most even of results, though they'd played quite well...
I get the feeling I have lots more, but most were a fairly long time ago... ^^;

Super Smash Bros Melee:
*Clearing the final Event Match with Jigglypuff's super-ko-move.
*Defeating three teamed-up Level 9 CPU Ganondorfs with Marth.
*Beating All-Star mode in Very Hard difficulty with Marth... after innumerable failures.
Paper Mario, The Thousand-Year Door: Clearing the Pit of 100 Trials in without using healing items, using Star Moves, or grabbing after-battle hearts/flowers.
Soul Calibur II, Tekken 3, and Tekken Tag Tournament: Getting the best time at the local arcade... although not that many people play it, apparently.
Halo: Actually getting a single KO/Kill against "Dahaka"...
Disgaea: Creating a level 1000 Laharl that knows all subordinate-learnable spells (except for Bow), and has been reincarnated in the highest state.

That reminds me of the time I got the... crazy hand trophy, was it? One has to beat adventure mode on hard or higher without continuing, and the usual advice is to take it slow to avoid Giga-bowser. But I didn't, and beat him when he popped up anyway. ^^
...It kinda seems like a lot of my most glorious moments are from ignoring the reasonable thing to do. XD
Also, if sheer persistence paying off counts as a best moment, then earning Super Dante in DMC is probably high on my list. That was an epic challenge. ♡
Though I kinda ended it in an anticlimactic way...

Star Ocean 3 DC: Lenneth: "NIEBELUNG VALESTI" Me: "Aw, fuck." GAME OVER
Soulcalibur III: Damn stage on Chronicles of the Sword where you fought Luna and the rest of her gang. OMFG HAX!
Diablo II: When I had just gotten my full Tal Rasha set from a friend and went to MF on Hell on Andariel. Got destroyed by a an assload of fallen and shamen multiple times. No one was on to help and I was about to call it quits and leave my corpses there and forget about D2 until I carefully cleaned the room out NAKED. Got my corpses and then ended up getting ganked by Andy and just left -.-
World of Warcraft: Not mine, but I was a witness. My friend's level 70 dwarven hunter ran into an instance with a bunch of higher level horde(60+) and targeted one, used scatter shot, set a freeze trap, and RAN. It was hilarious.
Wild ARMS 3: John Dee fight that took 5 hours.
Counter-Strike: Source: Knifing someone who is completely unaware of your presence. It's always a best moment.
If I think of more, I'll add them i guess.
Squall Leonhart - May 7, 2007 01:37 PM (GMT)
Super Robot Wars Alpha 3: OWNING an army of enemy units with super cool map attacks such as the Goldion Crusher or Twin Buster Rifle
Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+: Owning Roxas when I was about to die.
Xenosaga 3: OWNED Zarathustra with Erde Kaiser Sigma.
Galaxy Angel 2 Zettai Ryoki No Tobira: Seeing Takuto get thrown into the air by Apricot the very first time
Tales of Destiny PS2 remake: 200+ hits on Miktran first form. (I'm not like those players that can perform 999+ hits)

Last year my brother, 2 sisters, and myself were playing Shadow of the Colossus. ...and when I say play they were watching me and my bro play. It was like 2 in the morning and i think we were all pretty much half asleep and I was trying to beat one of the colossi and I don't know how but it jumped right behind me and all four of us jumped so high and screamed as loud as we could.
By far one of the funniest gaming moments I've had.
Oni - May 17, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
While I was getting cocky in SSBM, I took on Ken and got my butt handed to me...
While I was playing Wii sports, I was listening to All Star, and beat Boxing without taking a hit.
[insomnia] - June 1, 2007 04:03 AM (GMT)
Trashing multiple people at Dance Dance Revolution. xD
goldraine - June 17, 2007 01:26 AM (GMT)
CSS: Cleared the roster of terrorists using the newly updated M4. They downgraded everything but the M4 this last update, though the FAMAS and the UMP isn't too bad. LOL CT weapons are awesome now.
Minerva - Metastasis 1 and 2: No saves other than the auto saves on hard. God those plasma rifles hurt....
Metal Gear Solid 3 Substance: EUROPEAN EXTREME!!!!!!
rekishi - July 24, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)

"sweet fried egg ~kashira!" was all i could think of saying... (but i didn't... )

My best moment is when my kills in America's Army synced up with my music, I was playing SF_SnakePlain and was sniping, Beethoven Virus was playing in the background.
Kthelmir - April 16, 2008 07:07 AM (GMT)
Getting headshots on disguised enemy spies on Team fortress two. I always feel awesome when I headshot a spy as a sniper. Also, another great moment was when I put up a Spray that said "I'm not even on your side" when I was playing as a spy. The Enemy medic that was healing me took the time to look at it, giving me enough time to back stab him. I felt awesome afterwards.

When I yelled "OBJECTION" into my mic for the first time on Apollo Justice this morning.
Never before has gaming felt so... CATHARTIC.

Hmmmm, this one time I was playing a friend in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and in the first round, I was down to 1 character left (BB Hood) and he still had his 3 with about half bars left. I beat 2 of them, and wound up beating him in a time draw. I won by an extremely small margin. As the second round started, I said, "Try not to choke this time."
My favorite Halo 3 moment was when I actually came back from WAY behind in Team Slayer to become the MVP of that match. It was funny, the rest of MY team was trash talking me throughout the match. I got 2 Triple Kills in the match, shotgun spree, plenty of stickies on people. After the match, in the lobby, the only thing I could think of and said was, "Noobs, class is dismissed." and left the lobby.
When I was younger, I played Darkstalkers in the arcades and totally sharked some poor kid, made him think he was doing good. I acted as if I never played this game before. He won the first round. The next two, he couldn't touch me. I think he got like one hit and that was it. I didn't intend to actually shark him, but at least he was happy he "won" a round. He never suspected anything.

Easily my favorite

The "swing of death" in GTA4.
Might take a few tries but the result is worth it, especially online.

I downloaded a Warhammer 40000 mod for Operation Flashpoint and then played Iron Warriors vs. modern world.
It included creating a town full civilians defended by a squad of US Army infantry and attacking it with a squad of raptors.
One of the best moments was attacking the town with a single raptor, killing all the soldiers and then killing the civilians with M16s because I ran out of Bolt Pistol ammo.

Dawn of war: Dark crusade:
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee312/H...urasskicked.pnghttp://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee312/H.../FUCKYEAR-1.pngI steam-rolled both of the opposing teams in those games by myself. I've won numerous 2vs4's, 1vs2's and 3vs4's. Most of them were won by a crushing margin.

Make that (finally) achieving a Lv9999 Laharl, Adell, Space Knight, and Shadow Master with 186000 stored levels, 255 mastery in two/three weapons each, and (virtually) perfect equipment in Disgaea 2.
Brawl: Majestically winning a three-on-one online stock match against three of my friends. One gave up the game after that. xD
