Title: Sports
Description: Play? Watch? No thank you?

What do you guys like as far as sports?
I really need to get out and do more, but I like to play all kind of sports. Baseball, basketball, football, bowling, tennis. The only thing I've gone out and done with any real consistency since I was young is bowling.
I like to watch baseball, and sometimes I'll watch football.

I don't really play or watch sports....Unless DDR is counted as a sport! Then I'm very athletic!
Stormin Norman - April 22, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
I don't usually play any sports, as I'm not athletic at all. I used to be athletic, in middle school or so, but since I've become rather lazy and out of shape. ._.
And I watch a lot of sports, especially since I've started watching more recently. Baseball (MLB), Football, (NFL, NCAA, AFL), and basketball (NCAA, NBA) mostly.

Eh, most of my sporting experience is from PE lessons in school. They could be fun, but generally I prefer to spend my time on other things. ^^
I used to be fairly good at batting in rounders and cricket, though that was as a chibi, and the last time I tried the latter my technique was bad, and the bounce really threw my aim off. I'd be kinda interested in what'd happen if I tried baseball, though.
In football (soccer, to US-English speakers), I tended to do a good job at playing defense, though not everyone appreciated my "As long as it's not moving towards our goal, isn't it fine?" attitude.*
Badminton was another sport I was decent at, though I liked to try to play with a racquet in each hand rather than the normal way. =P
I'd say that's my second favourite sport though, after archery. I've only done that on three occasions, but it's fun. ♡
As for watching sports... I'll watch bits of the football world cup, but that's about it.
* This was despite it being rather successful at stopping the other team from scoring; then, the usual position on field was two goalkeepers and me near their own team's goals, and everyone else following the ball around. I don't think many actually got that good at getting past a defender who stays back to defend their goal... XD
I made no effort to actually send it somewhere useful, though (unless I was certain I had the time to aim), so people tended to focus on the fact that I'd lost control of the ball rather than blocked it from getting past.

Hmm...I don't really like watching sports, I'd rather just go play them.
But yeah, I play some once in awhile, mostly in PE. Basketball and Baseball are my fortés... I guess. o.o

Sahkhir
Or Soccer, which ever.
I also play defense, and adopt a similar philosophy tas Bara, but I make more of an effort to get it to someone on my team. But I can't aim for shit in the first place. I suck as goalie so all I can do pretty much is defense, which suits me because I can almost always run faster than everyone else on the team.
Baseball, I don't like as much, but I'm also good at. I can almost always hit the ball, and again, I run fast, so, there you go. However, I can't catch or pitch worth shit.
I played Basketball for four or five years. I don't do well on/against a team, however when it's one on one and I get into it, I can pretty much win easily.
I worked at a fencing place two years ago, quit after a while because I find it extremely repetitive and boring. Meh.
I've had two bows, and I still have some arrows, however as the past tense suggests, both bows broke. Also meh.
And then track, I guess, except I'd hate it. However I'm the fastest runner out of the freshmen class at my school or something. Though, when it comes to distance I fail.
Tennis is in my family. It's okay, I'm better than okay at it, for someone who hasn't played more than three hours of it in his life, or so I'm told. Don't like it as much as Soccer though.
I don't like football or golf, though.
Hockey when I can play is fun and I'm not bad. Not great still.
I haven't taken swimming yet in high school, but in middle school some how I ended up in the top swimming group. Which is odd because I'm terrible at breath control.
My dad and I go hiking/backpacking several times every summer. So far we've only done three fourteeners though. (a fourteener is the local term for a 14000 foot mountain. There are 51, I believe, in the state) To do one in a day is difficult. You have to get up and off the peak before noon because then the storms roll in. And then you get shock'd. Also up there it's hard to breathe because of how thin the air is. You get less oxygen per breath, so you get exhausted easily unless you're really well conditioned. On the other hand, to do a 14er in two days is difficult because there's often no where to camp.
What else? I don't think I'm missing anything important... Learning to skateboard, if that counts.
Miaka - July 8, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)
I Play Basketball, Golf, Volleyball, Swimming and Soccor a little bit.
I dont watch sports whats so ever. lol
rekishi - July 8, 2007 08:08 PM (GMT)
i can ice skate pretty well, but i'm still a fair way off from being a pro...
tho i don't do it very often, i love playing paintball... trouble is, i can never get enough people to go...
and i love to run/walk... i figure god gave me working legs, so i'm gonna use them... i usually try to go running at least once week, and i usually push myself to hard, so i'm sore for the rest of the week and don't run again. :P
Little Devil Dog - July 8, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
soccer, I hate to run but eh. I LOVE the outdoors, thus I hike ^^

I enjoy a good game of badminton. Keeping score kind of distracts from the main interest for me, though, which is hitting the bird as hard as possible. I play by the Nanoha/Vita school: if you hit it hard enough, something good will happen.

I am not a sports fan. However, I used to ride my bike a lot, so mountain biking sounds like my kind of sport. I'm also somewhat of a Formula One racing fan. I try to catch the Monaco Grand Prix every year. I enjoy go-karting a lot too, but it's been a couple of years since I've done it

I'm really good at whatever sport we play in PE. I'm really fast, so I can run bases good when we play softball or kickball, and dodge balls pretty well when we play dodgeball. I really like to run, but I don't want to be on the track team. My PE teacher told the track coach that I'd be good for it. I told her I'd consider it...but I lied. =P When it comes to watching sports...I never do...it's just not an interest of mine. I only excerscise to stay in shape.

For me, running is the main sport I do. Right now, I'm in cross country conditioning before the actual season starts. (Brutal though...running in 90-100 degree weather) I also did track, where I also did just distance events.
I also play tennis at least once a week. I'm not too serious about this, however my mom has always wanted me into this instead of running.

I hate sport.
I think it is because during primary school, we used to go out for sport about 4 times a day and I could not see why they liked playing the same games over and over and over again. Then i started to avoid it whenever i could and i would always deliberately get 'out'.
Whenever i got a new P.E. teacher i would let them know that i hated sport and that i didn't get the point of following a round object around the place for no particular reason because it wasted my time.
I might also have a certain 'avoidance' towards sport because i am scared of things falling on my head. Whenever i see a ball coming at me, i put my arms over my head and run away very fast.
Only just recently, i have been trying to have a bit of a go at sport, but that's 'cause my class this semester is really great and my best friends are in my class. I'm a really good cheerleader, cause my voice is really loud [too loud, Lilmenchi recons] and i love supporting and encourageing the other people to do well!
It's my last semester of sport. Hurrah, when it is over.
I do Taekwondo though. I think that is a sport, but they never do stuff like that at school. I have recently become a green belt and my sparring skills are excellent [my instructor often puts me against brown belts and above].
So yeah! That is what i think of sport!

I usually just watch sports, though I golf occasionally <_<
Tranen - July 20, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)
I do sport, just none in the real world. Like everything else, I do it in the comfort of the virtual reality world...
Actually I mountain bike a bit (No good at) and I practice Chinese Martial Arts, but I do them to get from A to B and for self defense respectively. I don't enjoy sports, especially when I'm playing it.

NekoHennuli - December 14, 2008 07:07 PM (GMT)
No sports for me. -.-'
Except if there's fighting or horses. =P
Delight - December 14, 2008 08:47 PM (GMT)
I like voleyball, but I don't play it often, because I don't exercise on P.E. because of health problems.
I like Krav Maga, but I don't have money for lessons any more. Sometimes I do some katas at home, though.

I play on my school's hockey team, but I'm a looong way away from being any good at it. I only really play because it's the only sport that requires running around I can stand.
I prefer archery, and I'm looking into getting some proper lessons soon, there's a new archery club about five minutes from my house.

I don't play for school but I'm pretty good when it comes to Tennis, Basket ball and soccer

I was an offensive lineman in football for my HS football team. I left after 2 years because of personal problems.
Now I kick back and watch Pro and college football. I like watching Men's college hoops as well :)
