Stating my favourites would just repeat what everyone else is saying.

I'll just say the openings to Tsukuyomi Moon Phase and Gakuen Alice are fun.

I also liked the openings to Elfen Lied and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

I love all the Anime Openings. Most Western TV shows spend less time and money to get good, special songs catered for the show. Anime openings are good and I enjoy them even if I don't watch the show.

The OPs and Anime music I hate, on the other hand, can be summed up in one word...

DUBS.

They ultimately screw up the theme songs, especially the ones for kids. They take the good songs and put screwed up rock instead. I remember there was one graphic representation on how Anime was transformed by kid channels like Fox and stuff...It was so incredibly true yet gruesome...

Here's some of the most infamous and horrible ones:

Digimon (from stuff like Break up! and the cool theme song to the bull**** in which they take up every minute of the song by repeating Digimon, Digimon, Digmon)

Pokemon (That crap about gotta catch them all. The original theme was way better)

I watched both versions before and I must say that is one of the reasons I stay away from dubs.

DAYS, Eureka Seven's first OP is easily my fav so far. It gives off a really epic feeling and fits the series perfectly. The same band (FLOW) also did Code Geass' first OP which also is very awesome.

I like Higurashi's first opening a lot. It'd probably be really high if I ranked OPs and EDs. ^^

More recently I spent a number of days listening to the Toradora OP and ED 90 times. They're great. Also Hidamari x365's OP was fantastic.

My mind is being weirdly blank at, but I liked Hishoku no Sora, and the Haruhi themes.

And I don't know why exactly, but Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora's OP was pretty cool.

And Stray, though I've kinda dropped Wolf's Rain out of boredom.

Out of the new shows, I enjoy To Aru Majutsu no Index's OP.

I also rather liked Kyouran Kazoku Nikki's OP, as well as the Ouka ED (the one with the elbows). And I was initially not particularly impressed by Yozakura's OP, but have come to like it after hearing it a few more times and looking more closely at the visuals. It just strikes me as fitting and pretty, or something... ^^

Just including this fall's anime, I'd say Casshern Sins OP wins for audio, Shikabane Hime Aka OP for video, and Chaos;Head OP for the combination thereof.
