Eh, I wouldn't worry right now, you've been growing quite well... As far as I've seen there's been like a new member everyday.... ^^' That's really good. A shout-box would be cool, though.
nagisa - August 10, 2006 12:43 PM (GMT)
yeah its gaad to see there's new member here..
Mago - August 10, 2006 12:46 PM (GMT)
What in Outer Heaven is "gaad"?
Stormin Norman - August 10, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
I believe that would be good. :P
Anyways, I'm not so sure about a shoutbox. I've yet to find a shoutbox that has all the features I'd want, and without any negatives for free.
A jukebox with some Rozen Maiden music might not be such a bad idea, though. I'll see what I can do about that.

I would put somewhere to advertise our own forums... :whistling:
nagisa - August 11, 2006 04:59 PM (GMT)
it shouldn't be a problem
but remember to put our affiliates button to ur forum neh... ^^
* i'm working on it now*

Ew. That's... that's really quite hideous. It makes the forums look cheap. At the very least fold that into another section, so it's not just out there making everything look sleazy. Really, now, affiliate programs and advertisements are for people whose forums can't stand on their own two forumy feet, and I think these can.

You have to have a way to spread your name around. You can't expect google to do everything for you.

You know, you're right about that. Since my affiliation with all of those sites is already approved, hopefully they won't notice their button got taken down and my link will stay up at those sites. :whistling:
I'll still keep the affilaites section in the portal, though.

You're right, but I'm not just relying on google. Over the past few days, I've joined and advertised and a dozen IF anime forums, and I'll continue to do so until I can't find any mmore places to advertise.

I never worked that hard for my boards.... which might be why they alwasy fail. T_T

I'd suggest allowing anonymous users to view the forum (but not to post). That way, when they see how much fun we're all having, they'll want to join, too. :waving:

Well, the original reason I made it that way was so guests can't see the avatar gallery. But you're right, it couldn't hurt to make at least some of the forums visible.
Edit: Guests can now see all the forums in the Rozen Maiden/Anime and Misc. categories.

If you're talking about the IF ads, you have to pay to have those removed (that's how InvisionFree makes money).

There's a cheaper solution, but it's on the user end. If you don't like the ads, then use a stylesheet to excise them. Such a stylesheet might be
Floppymoose, which I use. The only embedded ads that will make it through are Flash (which Invision doesn't use) and text (which they do, though increasingly rarely, I'm noticing). Technically it says it's for Mozilla, Netscape and Safari, but it could potentially work for other browsers. I use it with a browser which is none of those. Just set it up as a user-defined stylesheet and it should get to work the next time you browse.
Stormin Norman - August 12, 2006 08:39 PM (GMT)
Ah, thanks Gloss. I just tried that and it works for me.
And Nagisa, there's no need for you to pay for ad removal. If it ever gets to the point where I would want that, I'll pay for it myself.
