Title: Listen to the Song Above

Stormin Norman - December 2, 2006 04:53 AM (GMT)
This is a thread I decided to copy from KD. It's rather simple. One person uploads a song and posts the link here. The next downloads and listens to the song, then posts an opinion/rating about it and a new song for the next poster to listen to.

If you don't know where to upload songs, try one of these sites:
www.sendspace.com
www.megaupload.com
www.yousendit.com

Here's the first song to start it off:
Kamelot - "Soul Society"

Glossarienvogel - December 2, 2006 05:45 AM (GMT)
Time to listen to that, I guess. Edit: I missed that bit in the OP. Very well then! I, uh, found it kind of dull. Sorry. Not my thing. ;(

Here, something for the poster below me:
Our Lady Peace - The Needle and the Damage Done

A fine Neil Young cover. As a friend of mine put it, "I don't know why I have any other songs."

Suigintou's Friend - December 12, 2006 08:44 AM (GMT)
Not being a fan of Our Lady Peace, I was skeptical. But I was impressed. Kind of rockin'!

Here is a song for the next person:

Nuclear Rabbit - Champion of the World

Be warned, because it contains explicit language and explicit hilarity.

weird-osaka - December 12, 2006 06:27 PM (GMT)
Funny song, but not something i would listen to on a daily basis.

And here is mine for now:
Detroit grand pubahs - offbeat killer (Zipped for my own covenience only.)

Warning: dunno what to warn for, but should it manage to offend you, you can atleast not say I didn't warn you :P
And please don't try to take the song seriously

lauscho - January 11, 2007 07:27 AM (GMT)
This is just the kind of eccentric funk track I'd expected you'd listen to XD

Here's one for all you people who are not Barry (=P):

Strapping Young Lad - Skeksis

Also language warning. All I'll say is that I want Devin Townsend's voice, and their drummer's feet.

weird-osaka - January 17, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
Not bad, but kinda strange.
Then again, I am kinda used to strange

Deep purple - Child in time

Warning: this song is awesome.

Stormin Norman - February 4, 2007 08:04 AM (GMT)
That was interesting. Not exactly my style, but I still liked it.

Next song:

Mercenary - "11 Dreams"

cookie ruler - February 4, 2007 12:18 PM (GMT)

lauscho - February 4, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)

Deep purple - Child in time

Warning: this song is awesome.

That song is bloody awesome (I know how to play the organ line <3)

^ And I've never been a reggae fan. It's a good song though.

Here's one for you:
Pain Of Salvation - Imago (live)

That song's vastly different from their usual style :o

Nizlopi - JCB song

weird-osaka - February 5, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
Not really something I'd listen to. rather boring if you ask me.

Next up:
Bile - Sex reflex

Warning: language ?

cookie ruler - February 16, 2007 07:44 PM (GMT)

weird-osaka - February 17, 2007 06:42 PM (GMT)
Weird. But if you leave away the video it's pretty boring.

Machetazo - Mortado

Warning: no warning.

lauscho - February 18, 2007 06:27 AM (GMT)
I'm still trying to decipher what the lyrics are

Too much bass though. Pushing my headphones way too far. :pinch:

And heeeeere's mine:

Devin Townsend - Bad Devil (live)

(right-click/save-as)

Stormin Norman - February 18, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
Well, that was different from what I usually listen to. XD
And not bad, either.

Next song:

Nightwish - "End Of All Hope"

weird-osaka - February 19, 2007 08:15 PM (GMT)
I never really liked this type of music. This sadly is no exception.

Next song:
AC/DC - Johnny B. Goode (live)

lauscho - February 28, 2007 07:50 AM (GMT)
Classic song, classic band.

Orphaned Land - Ocean Land (The Revelation)

Israeli progressive death metal. Think Opeth, with middle-eastern instruments.

Suigintou's Friend - March 1, 2007 12:43 AM (GMT)
I dig this. It seems more upbeat then Opeth, and the singer's clean voice isn't as good, but I like the instrumentation style.

Song for the next poster:
Miaou - Scene of the Sunrise

An instrumental guitar/drum and drum programming song. Great chill music.

goldraine - March 1, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)

That was awesome. Very good.

The Protomen - Hope Rides Alone

The first part to a 7-track rock opera about the first 6 Mega Man games. It's got a rather unique sound, at least to me.

Stormin Norman - March 9, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
That was indeed quite unique.

New song:

Blind Guardian - "Straight Through The Mirror"

goldraine - March 9, 2007 02:00 AM (GMT)
Blind Guardian! I love these guys! I also like Demons and Wizards, and the reason I discovered BG was because I love Iced Earth. Anyway, my entry:

Risa-Ohki Valse des Amoreux

From FINAL FANTASY VOCAL COLLECTION II ~LOVE WILL GROW~

Very traditional, very... French. But thats not why I love it, it's simply a beautiful composition.

Fun, I also like Iced Earth. Perhaps I should check out Demons and Wizards too, then?

Anyways, that song was... interesting. Not like what I usually listen to.

This time around, I will upload an anime OP:

Mizauki Nana - "Eternal Blaze"

lauscho - March 25, 2007 03:29 AM (GMT)
It's safe to say at this point that I've begun to tire of j-pop. Anime theme songs are no exception.

A.C.T. - Call In Dead

On the other hand, this song is like drugs, in music form.

Suigintou's Friend - March 25, 2007 04:07 AM (GMT)
I can definitely see the Queen influence there.

Sentimental War - Everyone is Dancing on My Grave

weird-osaka - March 25, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
Well, that sure was different.
I actually kinda like it.

Next up:
Machetazo - Ace of spades (cover)

goldraine - March 26, 2007 02:16 AM (GMT)
I... I didn't really like that at all. It's nothing like the original version

Anyway,

Bloodstained Lineage -- Testament's Theme

It's just awesome, it's Testament's theme from Guilty Gear. This particular version is from Guilty Gear XX Live in L.A. vocal edition, with some decent vocals.

Lyrics:
Keep me away!
Keep me away!
Keep me away!

The air is filled with suspicion.
The guy is pretending to know nothing more.
And though we are in the middle of war,
Personal war happens in your brain.

Get away from my life!
Get away from my life!

Your loud screaming will melt in the air,
The sounds of silence will freak you out.
Chasing you down, you can't hide.
The sounds of war will freak you out.

That guy is only halfway through,
Familiar face, fire in his eyes.
Hold on soon, he will jump on you,
Break your heart, cut your throat, come on!

Inside and out, you are always on the run.
The only way to keep you all alive.
Inside and out, you are always on the run.
The only way to keep us all alive.

Your game's over; close your eyes!

Get away from my life!

Now we'll make your blood into wine,
Serve your hatred; it feels so divine!
Close your eyes, shut out all of the world.
Slowly turning, the pieces revealed.

Your loud screaming melts in the air,
The sounds of silence will freak you out.
Chasing you down, you can't hide.
The sounds of war will freak you out.

Come on, let's all just go insane!
You've got to run, just turn and run!
You are just going to lose it, this way!
Go on and run, this is the way, come on!

Inside and out, you are always on the run.
The only way to keep you all alive.
Inside and out, you are always on the run.
The only way to keep us all alive.

Keep me away!
Keep me away!
Keep me away!
Keep me away!

Keep me away!
So far away! (COME ON!)
Keep me away!
So far away! (You'll never see! You'll never see!)
Keep me away!
So far away! (You'll never see!)

Get away from my life!
Get away from my life!

Show me the way when we unite!
You are not going, you still have to fight!
Racking pressure in your mind!

Inside and out, you are always on the run.
The only way to keep you all alive.
Inside and out, you are always on the run.
The only way to keep us all alive.

Your game's over; close your eyes!

Get away from my life!
Stormin Norman - March 27, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
Can't say I liked that very much, the vocals kinda turned me off.

I'm in the mood for some more anime music, so that is what I shall upload:

Kimura Maki - "The Theme of Moon Phase"

If the title didn't make it obvious enough, it's from the Tsukuyomi Moon Phase OST. I rather like this song. =3

lauscho - March 27, 2007 04:55 AM (GMT)
A lot more interesting than most anime music I've heard :o

QUOTE (Suigintou's Friend @ Mar 25 2007, 12:07 AM)
Sentimental War - Everyone is Dancing on My Grave

Our own compositions, eh? Two can play at this game.

Travis Lausch - Thousands Of Vapours Of Dynasty Probes Circling The Swamp For Hopes At Unease And Glimmers Of Untried Particle Posture

Just needs some guitar, and it's finished.

Stormin Norman - March 27, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
That was nice, considering it's still incomplete. Can't wait to hear the final version.

Yeah, Tsukuyomi Moon Phase has one of the best anime OSTs, IMO. Here's another song from it:

Kimura Maki - "Be My Cat!"

goldraine - April 3, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
I liked this a lot! Got a torrent for the rest of the OST?

Here's mine:
Aoki Mayuko - Feel

It's a real light, somber song. Perfect for when surfing the net randomly. It hails from a Final Fantasy X tribute album, with the tribute being of Tidus and Yuna, the main characters. This is Yuna's image song. I love it.

I've been unable to find any torrents of it (except for one that's a batch files with spanish subs of the episodes as well), but you can get a direct download of the songs here.

I agree, I like that song a lot, too.

New song:
Ali Project - "Mirai no Eve"
It's the ending theme for the anime Avenger (which, unfortunately, is a downright terrible anime).

It may be an awful anime, but the soundtrack is AWESOME.

As for my song, I'll up it later. My bandwidth is currently going to seeding.

lauscho - April 3, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
There's no song there yet, so I'll comment on it when you do post it. (PM me when you do, so I don't forget! :o)

The Aurora Project - The Betrayal

NERD ROCK

Azrial - April 4, 2007 06:24 AM (GMT)
::Jumps right into this one::

Normin, I love the song you started this thread with. I have the video for it if you want. I love how they brought Shagrath in to portray True Satan (as opposed to Kamelot's singer portraying The Prince of Lies.)

Just had to get that out of the way.

The Aurora Project - The Betrayal :

This doesn't sound bad at all. It reminds me of Tool's music style a lot. Heh, this is probably why I like it. It's familiar. (I don't listen to Tool anymore though)

Well heres mine. I thought this one suited both my taste and the Rozen Maiden theme in a way (it starts with a victorian styled sound, in case you were wondering)

Emperor || The Eruption

Tool is one of the band's major influences

*will let next poster take your song*

POST BLAH BLAH SONG

link is DEAD

I'm just going to link to a video to YouTube for my song, as the song is included on the video.

Starsailor - Way to Fall

Really great song by alternative UK rock band Starsailor. It's a slow song, reminiscent of older rock songs of the 60's. Good stuff.

Stormin Norman - April 17, 2007 08:29 AM (GMT)
Not exactly my style, but I still kinda liked it.

Here's one of my favorite Mudvayne songs:

Mudvayne - "A World So Cold"

weird-osaka - May 25, 2007 07:54 PM (GMT)
No thanks

What this thread needs is something completly different.

Cock and ball torture - Aphrodisianus

Warning: language, if you can understand it.

weird-osaka - July 17, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
Thread revival :ph43r:

lauscho - July 28, 2007 06:32 AM (GMT)
I lol'd

The Devin Townsend Band - Gaia

Devin Townsend is definitely one of my favourite guitarists/vocalists EVER
