Title: Final Fantasy games
nekoconeko - November 23, 2006 12:11 AM (GMT)
Which ones do you have? Do you like? Do you hate? Or just wanna talk about them? FF gamers and others are welcome!
Ones I own:
FFX
FFX-2
FFXII
I haven't finished any of them.
Count Alucard - November 23, 2006 08:45 AM (GMT)
I have only ever played FFIII. It was pretty fun though I never got really far.
nekoconeko - November 23, 2006 04:46 PM (GMT)
FFVIII is good, it has one of my favorite songs on it; Liberi Fatali
Squall Leonhart - May 13, 2007 06:30 AM (GMT)
I have played:
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 8
Final Fantasy 10
Final Fantasy 10-2
My favourite is FF8 cause there's where my favourite main character came from, not to mention he has the coolest limit break.
No offense to FF7 fans but I think FF7 is geting overrated.
Suigintou's Friend - May 13, 2007 06:36 AM (GMT)
Hmm, I figured I'd posted here.
The first Final Fantasy game I ever played was Final Fantasy Legend for the Game Boy. My friend and I both enjoyed it immensely. Later, I got Final Fantasy Legend II for my Game Boy, and that's probably one of my favorite games ever.
I also played Final Fantasy III, and that one was really awesome. I had a mad crush on Celes for years.
Bara-bara - May 13, 2007 06:46 AM (GMT)
I've played a fair amount of FFX, and a bit of VII (in a short-lived attempt to see what the fuss was about). Also spent a while watching nii-chan play X-2 and wondering what part of it was supposed to be fun.
X was kinda nice (Anima and Bahamut captured my heart, to a certain extent), but I get bored of
grinding very quickly, so I'm not into this kind of game very much. ^^
Guy - May 13, 2007 12:57 PM (GMT)
I've played and own I, II, III, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, Tactics, and Tactics Advance.
The only ones I've actually beaten are Tactics, Tactics Advance, and X. But in 3, 9, and 10-2, I got close... but then just stopped playing. These six also happen to be my favorites of the ones I've played.
I don't particularly like 7, and 8 is pretty overrated as well. The original's "inn heal-and-save" glitch was too annoying, but the re-releases were much better.
Osaka - May 15, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
I must admit. I was all "hahalosers play/like final fantasy". Then I bought FFX for like 10 bucks at EB Games and omg.. it was like I was obsessed with it. D:
I couldn't stop playing it. lol.
That's the only one I've played though
[insomnia] - June 1, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)
-Thinks-
FF III
FF VII
FF VIII
FF X
FF X-2
FF XII
So far my favorites are FF VII and FF X - FF X was the first Final Fantasy game I defeated... And [hopefully] VII will be my second, however my third disc is defective. -____-
Dragoon - June 2, 2007 05:20 AM (GMT)
I have every I all final fantasy from 1 to 12 except for 11. And I am a big fan of final fantasy.
Chikane - June 2, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
I own I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII, and a bunch of spin offs...X was the first one I ever played and it's still my favorite. :3 I just don't have the attention span to play FF's anymore though...or any RPG for that matter. DX
Guy - June 7, 2007 08:19 PM (GMT)
Finally got XII. So far the battles are definitely better than all (non-Tactics) FFs before it, but I don't really like the character design and Liscense system....
Elfy - June 9, 2007 11:28 AM (GMT)
finally managed to borrow my friends FFVII and I love it
Kahuna - June 14, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
I own them all! 9 and 12 are my faves!!
Guardian - June 14, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
I played X for about a hour
I really liked it, but I prolly will never own a FF game
Kahuna - June 14, 2007 12:34 AM (GMT)
12 is the hardest one ever!!
goldraine - June 17, 2007 05:21 AM (GMT)
Lets see...
Final Fantasy - One of the best in the series.
Final Fantasy II - Meh
Final Fantasy III - Oh yeah, this was awesome. Remake was great, too.
Final Fantasy IV - One of the most difficult... I'm talking about the PS rerelease.
Final Fantasy V - Average, better than average OST
Final Fantasy VI - One of the most revered, for good reason. Memorable scenes.
Final Fantasy VII - It is as good as people say, but it is NOT the best or anywhere near it, however. Has a cool movie with neat fight scenes.
Final Fantasy VIII - The true ultimate title, awesome music, awesome battle system. Finally, a game where you don't actually have to level up!
Final Fantasy IX - A great title, a little underrated actually.
Final Fantasy X - A little weak, but still good.
Final Fantasy X-2 - Come on, it wasn't that bad.
Final Fantasy XI - I will shoot whoever disses this game for the sole reason that it's an MMO. Sure, it's a grindfest but it's still an awesome game. Lame music after 300 hours.
Final Fantasy XII - It's FFXI, without the online and an awesome plot. GRINDING IS STILL INCLUDED. WTF.
Final Fantasy Tactics - Horrendously simple to abuse. Still a fun game if you play it like you were envisioned to.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Average, still pretty good.
All other titles not mentioned either sucked or weren't actual Final Fantasy games.
Maronakins - September 13, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
Hah, I wanna reply to my own opinions about this. Also there may be spoilers, so be prepared!
FF1: Never beat it... hard as heck but too awesome for it's time. Worthy of anyone's time ^^
FF2: Hm... It's... ok. It has it's good points but, I guess it can get dull after a while. I do like the fact that it had a "disgaea" ness that you can master weapons
FF3: Never played T_T
FF4: My first FF! Arguably one of my top 5 fave games ever, I played SNES, PS, and GBA versions. I like the GBA best only cuz of the extra stuff you can do ^^. Very hard *PS/GBA version, SNES version was a breeze* Go go Rydia-chan!
FF5: Awesome Game. Easily Abused IMO, but this game was just so... wow. Why was it not released on SNES originally is my question?
FF6: Good Game. Great Game even. Better than FF7, for one thing. Lotsa characters, solid story... one problem... so easily abused... it's not even funny. Still, if you dont abuse, this game *can* get difficult
FF7: Good game. Fun. Really. Love Materia too. Cid Fan here. Lotsa Minigames, love snowboarding but... it's so overrated. The storyline sucks. Seriously. The Character designs, imo, are extremely paste. And Many things that, while impressive to a certain degree, most FF games aside from this one rivaled or suprassed it yet... everyone likes this one the most???
FF8: Absolute Fwnage. Awesome and very "un FF like" story *the theme of love as opposed to "stop the empire save the world and leaving it at that*. You get stronger? Cool, enemies get stronger! You're a weak big L? Sure! Enemies are Weak Big L's too! Some abuse is in play but... not only does it take LOTSA effort, but when you abuste this game, the knowledge you need to do so *and the ridiculous extent to get some items/magics* makes it hard to abuse for any newb.
FF9: Yup Underrated. Just cuz the chars look like little children? Really? This game brought back much of the oldschoolness that was FF in it's prime. Also, the ability leraning system was neat
FFX: Hm... I like it. XD. Not just cuz of the graphics, but it was fun... it gets boring once you go do lotsa those sidequests *GRR BUTTERFLIES*
FFX-2: This really was fanservice... but despite that, fun gameplay. Are you kidding me? 3 lovely ladies changing clothes over and over? SOLD. Also, getting 100% completion is a feat worth doing if you liked this game, how rad!
FF11: ...Never played. I'm not an online gamer
FF12: I gave up on the series by the time this came out. Sue me.
FFT: Fwnage. Other than FF6, the most easily abused game. Still, to Master every job with Agrias with no shark... I'm so proud <3
Edit: Play the PSP version! Worth the time! I played only the jap. version, but it's still fwnage. Meliadoul... is actually... USEFUL! *mighty sword now hurts ANYONE as long as they do not have maitenance skill*
Many other additions and errors were fixed. Like the Duplicate wpn trick. New items, new hidden characters, new generic jobs, it was worth it... of course, I wont get a PSP or the game anyway XD. *cheapskate*
FFTA: The Paste FFT... but it's not as bad as people say. Sure Judges suck, but my only true complain is how slow the game ran. Had it been as fast as FFT... Also, I love Vieras and Nu Mous XD. EZEL IS FWNAGE!
NekoHennuli - April 21, 2008 08:17 AM (GMT)
I have:
VII - One of the best. Maybe the BEST. Favorite character is Aeris and SEphiroth
VIII - I liked it, but it's too militaristic. Edea is best!
IX - This is so adorable! IX is one of the best, 'cause it has this "fantasy". Hmmh.. I guess Beatrix.. o.o
X - Blittzball rules! XDD This was very different from the other, but it worked. Lulu! <3
X-2 - Still haven't played the whole game, but.. Well.. It's different. And Paine rules.
Other FFs I have palyed:
FFVI - I love it! It's so darn cute, and so comprehensive fo SNES game. Kefka is the best! Evil maniac. WHAHAHAAHAAA!
Maronakins - April 25, 2008 01:17 PM (GMT)
@ neko hennuli: You gotta Try FF4. The graphics are probably slightly lower than FF6 *esp when "walking"* But its far more a fun game and less abusable.
Also not trolling, but really? FF7? How come that's the best to you?

I was thinking that I some day get somehow all the Final Fantasies and play them trough starting with I. =P
I love VII, 'cause VII was the first Playstation game I've ever seen played, the first Playstation game I've ever played and the first game I bought with my own money. It's just too nostalgic.
Every time I heard the intro of "Bombing mission" I see Aeris in bright green light with flowers. I can't describe the feeling that flows inside of me when I see the scene or hear the song.
An it has great story, great graphics (I love the "box people"! <3), its comprehensive, there's chocobos in every color!
It's just the best! XD
Chocobos with every color! <3<3<3<3<3
Maronakins - April 25, 2008 11:12 PM (GMT)
well FF9 has more colors for chocobos IIRC
Not disagreeing with most... I do thinkt he storyline fails, but then, I'm a picky little ass.
I will admit I was in love with FF7 when i was younger *like... 12 or 13 I think* I was so in love with that game.
I still like it alot. I still would play it from scratch and complete it *get 2 master summons, at least one master command and one master magic, defeat ruby/emerald and time myself, get all ultimas, etc etc*
Like I said, FF7 is good, but WAY too many ppl hype it to be the best. Your reasons are actually more unique *which I respect*
and that "feeling" I can prolly understand. Like the one I get for FF8's intro. Sheer epic intro. best one ever imo.

But there's no BLACK chocobo. X3
Azrial - May 25, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
Final Fantasy - I think I got to Lv10 and couldnt do it anymore
Final Fantasy II - Actually I JUST downloaded this for PSP. Well see.
Final Fantasy III - Nope
Final Fantasy IV - I just downloaded this one as well. Again, well see.
Final Fantasy V - Nope
Final Fantasy VI - Simply the best. I got to Kefka and my friend took the damn game back on me. I bought the PSx disc but never finished it. Today's lesson: DONT HAVE FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Final Fantasy VII - I don't give a shit, this game was so awesome I played it through like 5 times. hit 99 hours twice and beat Ruby Weapon 3x. Bite my shiny metal ass.
Final Fantasy VIII - Nope. I hear its not worth the 3.99 GameStop sells it for.
Final Fantasy IX - Nope
Final Fantasy X - Had great CGI, sphere grid was cool, but didn't feel complete. Sin was a wuss.
Final Fantasy X-2 - "Come on, it wasn't that bad." LOL yes it was. That didnt stop me from nearly beating this corny-as-hell game anyways.
Final Fantasy XI - I've been playing this for almost 5 years. My account is worth thousands of dollars and my main character is nearing 500 days online. Enough said.
Final Fantasy XII - It's FFXI, without the online and an awesome plot. GRINDING IS STILL INCLUDED. WTF. <----- ~~?!?!? nani!?!? noooooooo.....
Final Fantasy Tactics - Never got past the all-chocobo fight on the waterfall. Then, the one time I did, it blackscreened on me and the disc never read again. WTF
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Was good. The only FF game I actually beat haha.
Crisis Core: Started out awesome, but after 25% complete, its starting to suck. Repetition after repetition after repetition after repetition after repetition after repetition...
P.S. I got the black chocobo in all of them.
Edit: Crystal Chronicles: Me and 3 friends played this the whole way through and... dont get me wrong, it was really fun... but it was so short!!! Boooo, needs more game in this game.
cenyt - May 25, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
I played almost every Final Fantasy Game on 100% (exceptions are Crystal Chronicles and all the other Games, that werenīt released for one of the big consoles). I must say, that FF8 is still my favourite Game. Maybe itīs because itīs the first FF Iīve ever played, but I just liked the story and I think itīs underrated, because a lot of people just didnīt understand the system. You donīt have to draw each spell 100 Times, you donīt have to summon the G.F. the whole time and you donīt have to go up to lvl 100 - I wonīt bother explaining it all, but itīs all just about tactic when junctioning (you can be god if you really junction clever - I did it on a 400+ hour save). FF VII of course was also great - I just donīt like it being butchered with thousands of spin-offs & prequels. FF9 is my third-favourite game. I just think that the Abilitysystem was way too simple here.
FFX and everything that followed after is kinda special. I really like the Mass of Sidequests, the Characters & the Skillsystem, but I just donīt really like the story. Itīs not bad, but I expected more.
IMO the best FF-Games are FFVI - FFIX.
FFXII feels kinda like an MMORPG without any other players for me. But the bosses are great. Never had a game where a Boss fight really took me that long - especially the optional bosses ^^
NekoHennuli - May 7, 2009 06:39 PM (GMT)
A little bit of editing here. =P
I have:
VII - One of the best. Maybe the BEST. Favorite character is Aeris and Sephiroth
VIII - I liked it, but it's too militaristic. Edea is best!
IX - This is so adorable! IX is one of the best, 'cause it has this "fantasy". Hmmh.. I guess Beatrix.. o.o
X - Blittzball rules! XDD This was very different from the other, but it worked. Lulu! <3
X-2 - Still haven't played the whole game, but.. Well.. It's different. And Paine rules.
XII - Not finished yet. I'm stuck in one very annoying boss. To this point, I like it, thoug battle system is little weird. I love the old school RPG battle system. Oh, BTW, Fran is hot.
Other FF's I have palyed:
FF - I tried to play the original NES version but.. It was so goddamn HARD! So i cheated and played the GBA version. I loved it.
FFII - Tried again the original NES version. *Cursing* So I played the GBA version. Still haven't beat the last boss. XD Princess Hilda is best character.
FFIII - I hate and love this game. Being playing the Nes version for.. God knows how long.. It's so goddamn hard. But luckily I can cheat again with NDS emulator and its version of the game. XP
FFVI - I love it! It's so darn cute, and so comprehensive fo SNES game. Kefka is the best! Evil maniac. WHAHAHAAHAAA!
