Title: Do You Believe In Ghosts/Spirits?

I looked and didn't see a thread on this...

So, what do you think about paranormal beings? Do you believe in them at all? Why or why not do you believe in them? Do you think you've SEEN one? Any creepy personal stories to share?

What do you think?

Well, yes. My brother at one point lived in a peculiar house, with a couple roommates. One would wake up feeling a prescience next to him, and a oddly cold indentation on the bed. One could hear uncanny noises from time to time. Any pictures taken in the house would have unusual white spheres/circles/dots spread throughout them.

I've experienced some of this phenomena first hand when I visited... My brother isn't the sort of person to pull a prank so elaborate, nor one who could be so creative in the evidence provided. I'd be a fool to not believe in ghosts--or something--after that transpired.

As for other paranormal beings...

Extraterrestrial lifeforms: Yes, considering how the "building blocks of life" could be created, and the sheer expansiveness of the universe.

ESPers/Psychics: I'm iffy. It seems highly plausible that there's multiple phenomenon we cannot pick up readily, but we are nonetheless capable of picking up subconsciously or at very minute conscious levels, and which cannot be explained by science. This has been evidenced in several studies, as well as "coincidences" in which two individuals simultaneously share a virtually identical dream or "strange feeling".

However, I have seen no evidence or strong suggestion of clairvoyance nor telepathy, and especially not telekinesis, etc... However, I believe in freak cases of precognition, due to a single personal experience of it I've had in the past. I have no other means to explain that sudden and overwhelming feeling of dread, nor how it suddenly disappeared after the "incident" ended.

Mediums/Demonic possessed: Nope. The mind is a bizarre and complex thing... I generally find it easier to believe that these instances occur entirely in one's head.

You know what they say, seeing is believing, and thusfar I have seen nothing.

And stories from random people (even better if friends of friends are involved) on the internet and poor photoshops are not going to convince me.

No, thanks, I don't drink.

OH.

Believe in? No. Am terrified of? Fuck yes. I saw one once, or at least that's what I remember perceiving. Scared the weewee out of me.

Hell yes I believe in them! I live with a couple. One likes to throw things at my cousin. He even tried throwing a hammer at him but missed. I also believe in vampires, magic, and possession. As far as magic goes I don't believe in Harry Potter type magic but more realistic magic. And vampires, well, I'M A FREAKING FANATIC!!! If I ever meet one, I'll so let them bite me!

SuiKira, explain was more "realistic" magic is.

Wouldn't that be Harry Potter kind of magic? Isn't magic just magic? O.o

To a point I do.

Probably because of ghost stories my grandfather told me. : x
